The occupation of the area actually dates waaay farther back than just the 18th century settlers. Excavation sites and surface finds have located lithic (stone ages) artifacts, cairns and other materials attributed to indigenous communities from 7,000 BC to the 1700’s. That’s nearly 10,000 years ago, crazy to imagine living here then! There’s also theories about pre 16th century contact with the original people of now Maine by sea going Irish monks, Vikings, the Norse and Orkney & Basque fishermen. The first accepted foreign explorer to make landfall in Gulf of Maine was Verazzano (1524) but his stalled at the mouth of the Kennebec. But we didn’t even learn about him in school either 😑 #themoreyouknow 😊 🗺️ 🛶 📚 #themoreyouappreciate #welovemaine

I like what the properties of burning your property does because it doesn't just perfectly so it grows back very well but I also want to not waste the valuable Lumber so I wonder if I could take the volume A Lumber and firewood and then burn it after that
