I really want to get back into the new CoD gameplay but what is quite annoying is how quick the running is. The gameplay looks like it's a sped up video. Way too fast and it looks too futuristic.

Since Ram is super cheap atm tho you can ofc do that but especially for cod this will not change ANYTHING. Youre better of spending your money on a GPU upgrade instead of more RAM. I assume you play on 1920x1080p (FullHD) with that setup?
