Most defensive combinations, joint 1st for most injuries, with 10+ years of no change infrastructurally. Then we blame after his SECOND season? You need to recall how long it took Fergie to get a tune out of us. It was messed up then and we're telling uninformed fans that we should be up there. We've slacked more than any others thanks to our HoDs. Our history calls for greatness; our present calls for complete rebuild but WITH Ten Hag in for at least one more season.

I think you are assuming far too much. McKenna is a good manager but unproven in the premier league plus he is only 1 manager from a short list. We have spoken to him but that does not mean this leak is accurate. Agents leak this sort of stuff about players all of the time to get their players a batter deal, managers also have agents. It's ridiculous if United want to sack Ten Hag. With all the issues he's had on and off the pitch, the injury problems, the incompetence of the Director, CEO, the owners and dealing with players' egos, the same players who have betrayed 3-4 managers that have come before and the media that haven been against Ten Hag even before he got the job. The media have never liked Ten Hag and they have been preying on him for a long time. It's also ridiculous considering the options that have been put forward to replace him aren't really good enough. Tuchel won nothing with Dortmund, didn't really dominate Ligue 1 with PSG and apart from the UCL, he failed to compete in the Premier League with Chelsea and failed with Bayern despite taking over a side that was dominating the Bundesliga, he only won it last season because Dortmund bottled it and failed to win it this season, getting dominated by Leverkusen and failed in the Champions League last season when Bayern were winning all the UCL games under Nagelsmann and only conceding 2 goals but then bottled it under Tuchel. Kieran McKenna being considered for the post is ridiculous. Yes, McKenna has done a wonderful job at Ipwich but that's a totally different level from United. Remember Kompany last season dominated the Championship with Burnley but has failed in the Premier League. The players at United have big egos and if they didn't respect established managers like Van Gaal, Mourinho or a club legend like Solksjaer & a Champions League finalist like Ten Hag, what makes people think that they would respect a manager that has never even manager in the top leagues!!

Hi Sam great points about the steinberg report. I've now watched and listened 24hrs after utd winning the FA CUP final against city, I'm still very unsure and sitting on the fence, there are some major factors 2 take into consideration, would utd of done better with backroom staff and ceo, training scout, instead of relying on ETH, if INEOS had hurried the takeover alot sooner, instead of taking as long as they did, had alot of players on the injury table, and the only other options ETH had was the academy players. Yes I agree you can only do better with what is put in front of you, but all ETH was young players 2 be thrown in games that we needed 2 win, Coventry, Sheffield United, crystal Palace, but 2 win yesterday with all our fit regular players what an amazing achievement.

Strange how much the argument that ten Hag will succeed similar to Arteta with time has taken hold. Think all the stats from this season suggest we are very lucky to have finished 8th and the style ten Hag is playing is way too dependent on individual players as we have seen with Casemiro's dropoff this season and the Bruno injury at end of season. Ten Hag has said himself this season that the deep defence and high press in attack is the tactic he is trying to teach so the idea that he will play different style when everyone is fit is crazy. Also this argument that "the same players are throwing another manager under the bus" is crazy to me too. Most of the guys used this season have either been brought in or promoted by ten Hag or are clearly onside with him like Dalot, Bruno, McTominay & Maguire. Think it's the right move to replace him ultimately even if it's upset plenty of fans and got plenty of criticism in media.

I dont think ETH lacks the technical ability to solve MUTD team problems, i only question his choice of players to sign, which is an integral quality of a sound coach. I didnt like Mckenna option initially, then i read his profile, and ascendancy. It takes an incredibly talented coach to achieve back to back promotions, regardless of the league. Point is, he aint entirely a bad replacement.

I believe it's an unfortunate timing with the manager rotations going on right now. I think Ineos have been playing a double game with ETH and us fans. They told ETH they were going to keep him and they started planning with him for next season. That's why ETH was so confident about that in pressers. At the same time Ineos had a plan B in place to replace ETH mid season in Jan next year in case he didn't shown signs of improvement. That's why Ineos never issued a statement that they're backing ETH. But then everything changed in the last couple of weeks with managers all around Europe leaving their clubs (not just Chelsea). Suddenly Ineos found themselves having to act fast to not miss out on a potential replacement for ETH that they had planned for Jan. I'm sad for ETH. This season was very tough for him with all the injuries hampering the team's performance. If they do sack him we'll again start from scratch, players will have to adapt to another coach again. It's a shitty situation. Ineos are being ruthless. The game they are playing is dirty and disrespectful if all that is true. I just hope we get a good coach next season and start winning again. It's tiring seeing that shitty cycle of sacking managers every 2 seasons happening again.
