Was there that day. Did not relax until the final whistle, I'd been on the bad side of too many fakse dawns over the years. Amazing memories.

Great upload after the zebre news. The IRFU tried to do the same to Connacht 10 years before this final. They wanted more money for leinster etc by shiluting down Connacht

Shame the IRFU broke up this Connacht team instead of building on to it. Same happened Munster after they won

It's crazy to think Leinster has never paid Henshaw one week's wage. Imagine getting a free lions player for the next 8 years after he beat you in a final

Yeah, I'm a Leinster fan if they are playing against European/Eng/Scot/Welsh/S.A sides, but if they are playing any one of the provinces, North, South or West, I always hope they get a humbling.

Henshaw is an Athlone man, no more Gra for Galway than Dublin. He asked to move. Get the chip off your shoulder

Other than McGinty and Henshaw who did they let go?

@Cian097 the most important player in the past lam system who was the playmaker from second row muldowney. He was Irish qualified but an English guy many teams began to copy after the success but dilliane didn't have the ability to carry out the tactic. They were forced to realise the other 10 as well. The TH from NZ I think. I'd have to Google the rest

Not quite as a big a shock as Leicester winning the Premier League the same year but Connaught we’re nobody’s favourite at the start of the season. What a win!👏👏👏

Tiernan O’Halloran was extremely unlucky to have so little opportunity at test level. When Kearney was injured Stockdale was tried back there, Larmour, Conway etc.
@eltoniohКүн бұрын
Your timing is way out there. O'Halloran should have had another shot when Kearney was injured and off form but he was a spent force cos of injuries by the time Stockdale and Larmour were tried.

@ O’Halloran is 33. That was 5 years ago. It’s not unreasonable that a 28 specialist full back could’ve been a better choice than cramming a winger in. And I don’t think he was a spent force at that age either.

@@Dreyno whether you think it or not he was. Unfortunately the 2nd half of his career was plagued by injuries.
@DreynoКүн бұрын
@ He was fit at the time. He was experienced. And he was an actual fullback. Whether you think it or not, that made him a better option than some that weee tried out in that position.

O’Halloran’s best form coincided with Kearney beginning his long decline yet was still picked every game. Similar to Marmion being ignored for McGrath and Murray Harder to get out of a Schmidt Ireland squad than into it, and I say that as a Leinster fan

Good win for Connacht, Leinster were a shadow of themselves that season, they were missing a bunch of players for the match too - Isa Nacewa, Josh Van Der Flier, Sean O'Brien, Dan Leavy, Devin Toner and big Mike McCarthy ! I think the 2015/16 season was the last time Leinster missed a champions cup knock-out stage too! Funny to see Jordi Murphy and Jack McGrath there, mad how Jack was a B&I Lion one year and forgotten the next! Ben T'eo as well, he was signed as a project player for Ireland and then England stole him...
