Hard drive storage has come a long way. I remember when 40GB felt huge back in 2003. Now all my computers have multi-terabyte space.

Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately this storage is not a real SSD drive! False advertising so I am sucker! I plan to do a video of me taking it apart essentially destroying it.

My hdd spins and is recognized but says cant access .i changed jumper .no dice.olease help
@UNBOXINGFORYOUJAMES2 ай бұрын
No guarantee but try Following these steps: Check Connections: Ensure that all cables are securely connected. Sometimes a loose connection can cause the drive to spin but not be detected. Power Supply: Make sure the power adapter is properly connected and supplying power to the HDD. Some drives, especially 3.5" ones, require an external power source. Driver Issues: Check if the necessary drivers are installed. You can do this by going to Device Manager on your computer and looking for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark. Try Different Ports: Plug the adapter into a different USB port on your computer. Sometimes, certain ports may not provide enough power or may be malfunctioning. Test on Another Computer: Connect the adapter and HDD to another computer to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the adapter or the computer. Disk Management: Open Disk Management on your computer (you can search for it in the Start menu). Check if the drive appears there. If it does, it might need to be initialized or assigned a drive letter. Check for Faulty Adapter: If possible, test the adapter with another HDD to see if it works. If it doesn’t, the adapter itself might be faulty.

Hello there.. Do you know anything about failed setup addresses on external hard drives please?
@UNBOXINGFORYOUJAMES3 ай бұрын
Sorry I did not see you message! I hope you got your problem answered but in case you didn't. A “failed setup address” error on an external hard drive typically means that your computer is having trouble assigning a unique address to the device. This address is crucial for communication between the computer and the external hard drive. Here are some common causes and solutions: Common Causes Outdated or Corrupted USB Drivers: If the USB drivers are outdated or corrupted, the computer might not be able to recognize the device properly1. Faulty USB Port: A damaged or malfunctioning USB port can prevent the device from being assigned an address2. Power Issues: Insufficient power supply to the external hard drive can cause this error1. Malware or Tampered Device: Malware or tampering can corrupt the device, leading to address assignment failures2. Solutions Update or Roll Back USB Drivers: Open Device Manager. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. Right-click the problematic USB device and select Update driver or Roll back driver2. Modify Power Options: Press Win + R, type powercfg.cpl, and press Enter. Click Change plan settings next to your preferred plan. Click Change advanced power settings. Under USB settings, disable USB selective suspend setting for both On battery and Plugged in1. Use Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Hardware and Devices. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting1. Turn Off Fast Startup: Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable. Uncheck Turn on fast startup and save changes1. Check for Faulty Hardware: Try connecting the external hard drive to a different USB port or another computer to rule out hardware issues

Possible solution if you haven't solved it yet. Check Connections: Ensure that all cables are securely connected. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause detection issues. Power Supply: Make sure the adapter’s power supply is connected and working. Some hard drives require additional power to function properly. Device Manager: Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. Right-click each entry and select Uninstall device. Restart your computer to let Windows reinstall the USB controllers. Disk Management: Press Windows key + X and select Disk Management. Check if the hard drive appears there. If it does, it might need to be initialized or assigned a drive letter. Driver Update: Ensure that your USB drivers are up to date. You can check for updates in Device Manager by right-clicking the USB controllers and selecting Update driver. Try Different Ports: Plug the adapter into a different USB port on your computer to rule out a faulty port. Test on Another Computer: If possible, try connecting the adapter and hard drive to another computer to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the adapter or the hard drive. Check for Faulty Hardware: If other devices work with the adapter, the issue might be with the hard drive itself

@UNBOXINGFORYOUJAMES Жыл бұрын
Assuming you bought the same one as mine, did you connect your HD disk to the right port? Another possibility is that your hard disk does not work properly. I had the same problem with one of mine.
@coleshill_production Жыл бұрын
Yes exact one. It flashes on my computer and thats about it for me. I am able to use an external disc drive and listen to old cds. But as for getting files off old external hard drives. Impossible. I read that u should have Windows xp Installed
@daddirri50518 ай бұрын
@@coleshill_production On the hard drive you may try creating a partition table and then format it so that it is usable. A completely blank hard drive without a partition table and a file system (which is created by formatting it) will not be able to have files read and written to it..
