UNITRONIC Carbon Fiber Intake sound on MK7.5 Golf R, listen to this before purchasing!

In today's video I reinstall the parts that I had on my MK7 GTI back onto the MK7.5 Golf R! I reinstall my Unitronic carbon fiber intake and turbo inlet elbow. Should I also reinstall my ECS Tuning turbo inlet elbow?

Hey great video! thanks for the info! I also have a 2019 golf r, so far it is stock aside from Unitronic stage 1+ ecu and tcu tunes. Love the tunes. (to be honest though, I found the throttle response somewhat sluggish still) so I added a pedal commander to it, WOW!! night and day difference. turned the car into a total beast. puts a huge smile on my face every time I drive it. I am not saying that the tunes are lacking anything at all though, as I also had a pedal commander on my tuned 2012 mustang gt coyote. Made it feel like a true muscle car. I am curious though, I am interested in adding a unitronic intake like the one you have (can't justify 430 cad for the extra air duct) and a turbo inlet tube. Does it require the secondary MQB air pump breather filter that Unitronic offers? Would I have to retune the vehicle after? How is the sound out on the road?

No retune needed no secondary air induction system on the 2018-2019 R in Canada. There is a bit more power and better throttle response and a slight increase in induction noise. I drive it all year in the winter and the filter stays nice and clean.

@@misteret5441 Thanks for the response! I live just outside of montreal and had the tunes installed right beside unitronic in laval. I imagine I may notice a little more with the tunes.. is yours tuned?

@@craigfutter9132 not yet but would like to go straight to stage 2 ecu and tcu. Won’t happen right away though expensive stuff ;).

@@misteret5441 especially if you include the downpipe and installation, if you can't do it yourself that is. I thought about stage 2 also but as a daily year round and a dad who doesn't see any drag time at a track, I thought stage 1+ was the best bang. I hope you enjoy stage 2 one day! Does this system require unitronics turbo inlet elbow ? Or can you stick with the stock elbow ?

The stock elbow is fine. The unitronic elbow just adds a bit of sound and removes further restriction for more power.

There’s airbox seal, did you have to put it around?
