Unitronic Intercooler Install and Review! - Mk6 GTI

Is the Unitronic intercooler any good? Does it fit well on the Mk6 GTI? Should you buy one? Do I have a dog?
All of these questions will be addressed in today's video. So get the popcorn out and prepare yourself to lose some brain cells as I unbox, install, complain, and share my thoughts about my new Unitronic intercooler.
I'm not sponsored in any way, so this is my honest opinion of the intercooler. This isn't an educational video, and don't try any of these stunts at home, because everything was done by trained professionals on a closed course.
You can find the intercooler on many euro car websites. I got mine from ShopDAP:

The intercooler will fit pretty much any VW/Audi with the transverse mounted 2.0 TSI/FSI/TFSI engine (Mk5 & Mk6 generations, around 2006-2014).

On the install, you should have loose fit the bolts until you had all of them in place including the ac bracket bolt. Then tighten to speck. But good install video.

I feel your pain with working too long and missing steps... I did a bunch of work a few weeks back and the last thing I did was install new EBC Red Stuff brake pads (per your video) and was breezing through it.. when I thought I was all done I realized I had one too many brake pads left over..... no one to hate but ourselves lol. Another good video man.

To see some difference, you need at least stage 2 ecu tune. Also you should see difference with tune in high performance driving situations - high speed, high rpm or track usage. With decent tune, better intercooler with less pressure drop, would increase HP and torque figures.

Yes. Though it doesn't really increase HP/torque, it just helps prevent those figures from dropping when things start to get hot.

Hey dude! I just installed this on my mk6 and I was wondering why it was such a pain in the ass. The unitronic intercooler isn’t designed for the mk6 gti. It can fit but it’s just a complete pain in the ass
