I just found his videos a few hours ago. Many blessings to him. May his videos continue to touch even more and more of peoples' hearts and minds toward unity, peace and love in the divine. Has anyone else stepped up now who is bringing people together through education and sharing Sikhi values with such clarity to those who don't understand them? The world needs to hear these truth tellers.

I think we in the Indian punjab need a lot of talks like this so that we can break this punjabi mindset of we are the greatest and everybody else, other cultures, colors creed, cast are not as good as us. I think it is time we are told about this as we don't like to be told this, especially non punjabis. So for Sukhi to move forward we in punjab need to learn to be non judgemental. Guys keep it up you are doing a great job

This video should have so many more views! "If my friends have virtues, I will share in them."- That quote by Guru Nanak Dev Ji from the SGGS sums up this entire video. Powerful!

Yesterday I visited my local Gurdwara as I regularly do. I am a 2nd generation Irish Catholic lady - 49 years young! I have been overwhelmed and deeply humbled by the warm hospitality I always receive. I love the principles of Sikhi and feel Sikhi has made me a better person. I have such peace when I visit. However, yesterday I was shouted at by two Amritdhari men to 'get out' of the Gurdwara. They were in a parked car outside the Gurdwara. They then drove off before I had a chance to find out why they felt the way they did. I must admit I was shocked and saddened by this. I am not trying to hijack any body's faith - I will always be an Irish Catholic who loves all people. I especially admire and respect Sikhi - I always have. I always bow to the Guru Granth Sahib Jim and pay for my langar. As an Irish person, I have always been fascinated by how similar Irish and Punjabi is, in terms of colonialism, partition, family values and both countries being predominantly farming/agricultural economies. I think what upset me the most about what happened yesterday is that the guys were Amritdhari. It is my understanding that a true Singh would never have behaved in such a manner. I think Sikhi is a beautiful faith based on love and respect for all humanity, and it has taught me to be a better person. I love you all. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh. Jx

You were shouted at because you were in a gurudwara? Kinda doesn't make much sense. If it's for no reason, just the fact that you go there, then it was silly for them to do that.

They were in the wrong. This is the opposite of what Sikhi teaches. Some people may have the appearance of a holy person but full of dirt on the inside

Most Sikhs would never do such a thing. Sorry that happened to you. Youre always welcome. If that ever happens again just ask some of the Sikhs around to assist or help you. Everyone is loved, welcome and equal under God and The Gurus eyes. Its always nice to hear about others visiting the Gurdwara. That made me happy :)

You made some great points... Reminds me of when I went to Golden temple and some Sikh singled me out for being white at the entrance and grilled me about not bringing tobacco or drugs into the Gurudwara when I hadn't done such things in years by Gods grace
@jasbirkaurvillaschi80198 жыл бұрын
these days so many tourists visit just to tick it off their places to visit list , without any understanding of the rules of attending a gurdwara, so please forgive him as he wants to make sure that no insult is done .
@danielcarr81038 жыл бұрын
Sorry but I disagree, I am not Christian but I guarantee if I had drugs, tobacco, and was presently drunk the Christians would welcome me with open arms and tell me I am in the right place and to come in to the church, they would see that I need to be there the most, not turn me away for lack of holiness, we need to aspire to this love and acceptance
@kiratkaur21418 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Carr you're example highlights an important difference between a Gurdwara and a Protestant Church. While Christians view a Church as buildings where people gather to worship together, Sikhs treat Gurdwaras as holy ground where certain rules must be obeyed because of the presence of the 11th Guru. IMO, this is due to the Protestant rejection of rituals and dogma associated with Catholicism along with Renaissance era emphasis in Western Europe on focusing on the lessons and teachings of the Bible as opposed to rituals like women covering their heads (which is still practiced in Eastern Orthodox churches). If you're looking for a religion that focuses purely on the mind, stick to Protestant Christianity or Buddhism as they're practiced today. Catholicism, Islam, Sikhi, Hinduism, and Judaism all have rules and regulations that must be obeyed, especially when visiting their "houses of worship".

+Amrik Singh strange I thought loving and accepting all was of the heart not of the mind... Tell me what will enforcing rules and customs give u when u are rejecting and policing instead of loving and embracing?
@danielcarr81038 жыл бұрын
+Amrik Singh sorry but if I see a homeless drunk hungry man laying in the street smoking a cigarette outside of gurudwara there should be no issue with me brushing him off and taking him to Langar and hoping the Bani pierces his heart and raises his consciousness... Anyone who takes issue with an act of love like this out of "rules and respect" is worshipping tradition/ritual more than Waheguru who loves and accepts all

Funny we should look at the bigger picture as gurbani has taken us out of all this. The guy on right got judged for his external look as he didnt have a pyjama on...think deep about that. The EXTERNAL LOOK. Also sikhs in gurdware have pushed a lot of people away. Sikh kids r lost more then ever. U cant wear socks in darbar sahib. They have learnt nothing have they?
