When my children were little I would tell them stories of sahabas as bedtime stories. I would cry every time I would tell them the story of the conversion of Umer bin Khataab. I was crying throughout this lecture again. The story of his acceptance of Islam is heart-touching. It also emphasizes that strength is an asset for society whether it’s in form of strong people or other resources. Today, Muslims are weak and being persecuted all over the world because we don’t have people of strength and courage among us. Allah’s deen always needs strong people like Umer and Hamza Razi Allah Anhuma.

Ever since I was young and we learnt about the 4 khalifas, I have always had a different feeling for Omar and never knew why up until now whenever I hear his name he gives me joy.
