Unity3d LiDAR - How To Use LiDAR Scanner With AR Foundation?

Today I start my tutorials on using LiDAR Scanner with AR Foundation where I show you how to set up a basic scene that uses AR Foundation 4.0 Preview.3 which includes meshing functionality with ARKit.

As a MARS user I'm patiently waiting for them to release a new version where I can use point cloud to work on simulation and real environment with the augmented objects, without using proxies and image markers (I read in their forum that they're working on it now and it's the top priority project). Just want to say great job to all the Unity engineers, scientists and mathematicians.

Thanks for the tutorial. I managed to get the example working on my ipad, but there is a weird "offset" Like, the mesh is not aligned with the real world by about one meter. What could be causing this?

Hey Dilmer, thanks for another clear and informative video. Looking at the ARMeshManager script in an earlier ARFoundation do you think you are able to retrieve values from the geometry, such as the vertices etc of the mesh. I am looking to work further with the data (point cloud) from this scanner?? Your thoughts would be appreciated

If you check "colours" on the mesh manager, the mesh will generate and apply colours too

can this be done with an iPad which doesn't have LiDAR in it? I have an iPad air 4 (2020) model and I am wondering if this can be done on my iPAD. Also are there any examples of how this is used in the real world? like how is it implemented and where can it be implemented?

Have you by any chance had problems when running the app for a long time? Mine freezes after about 10 minutes. It even happens with default ar foundation examples
