You should explain difference between ratio and interval variable more clearly. In an interval scale, subtraction is defined. In a ratio scale, division is defined. For e.g. in weights, you can say 40kg is twice as heavy as 20 kg. But you can't say 30F is twice as warm as 15F. The latter is interval variable where subtraction is defines.

The appropriate statistic depends on the level of measurement. For nominal variables, a frequency table and a listing of the mode(s) is sufficient. For ordinal variables the median can be calculated as a measure of central tendency and the range (and variations of it) as a measure of dispersion. thanks a lot for the nice tutorials. A question when you talk about data on interval scale that it cannot be multiplied or divided, i did not quite understand why, and the example you gave around having an average of temperature between two months was not clear as an average is addition and division together.
