They should have another alternative to offer for clients that already have several UAD products ... since every time you buy a product, you receive the same repeated plugins ... something unusable as it symbolizes not receiving anything in the purchase of a product that It is not cheap, they could have a better relationship with loyal customers to UAD and get an alternative option as in previous promotions, the truth leaves much to be desired.

I love all the Apollo's since day 1. I was blessed to start off with Apollo Twin 1 and now I have the Apollo 8p which is an upgrade with 10 DB of extra headroom output. I want to buy a few of these now...

Just got myself an Apollo 8p two years ago I’ll wait 5 years to upgrade. I only need 8 channels but that x16 is really nice if I owned a Big commercial/professional studio I would definitely have a few of those units.

Alright Mitch, you guys twisted my arm! I'm going to upgrade to the X8s! Gotta have that 7.1 surround & dolby atmos for Netflix projects now. Great review! You had me at 2 separate crystals for 44.1/88.2 & 48/96/192

Good job guys again! But, I have a question... When we will get a dedicated control surface for the Apollos? Let say 24 + 8 motorized fader and some touchy-rotary-pushy part for the channel strips....

Hey UA and Sweetwater. Good to see you finally cramp in more processor power. As you know your plugins suck up a lot of juice and this is at least a step forward. Well a tiny step to be honest. Especially if you would try doing an all-UA plugins mix. But who would be that daring. A few suggestions: Make the master level resolution higher. 0.5 dB per step. Make the level meters leds twice as many. Maybe not so necessary but it's nicer to watch. Better screen print (?) on the headphone knobs. The black stripe wears down. Screws on top and bottom, please have the assembly factory not tighten the screws so much that you ruin the screw heads resulting in severe scratches on expensive equipment.

unfortunately the universal audio apollo x6 or x8 or x8p does not have the same AD / DA of universal audio apollo x16 Correct? I think it should be better detailed the specifications of the audio interfaces, it was good to understand what differs from one to another, because it seems that it is not only the number of mic pres or output lines
@eman0828
@eman0828 4 жыл бұрын
Well most products are designed by teir levels that are suited for different markets or applications. The reason why the X16 has better specs because it's designed to be used with analogue outboard gear which requires more headroom. The other interfaces have slightly lower specs not only to cut down on cost but also designed for a specific market.

One thing I don’t like about UAD is this. They could’ve put the converters in the X16 in the X6 and X8. Not everyone needs the X16.

I already did the research, it'll be $100 less to buy the this new Apollo x6 rather than getting the previous Apollo 8 with a Thunderbolt 3 card upgrade, you lose 2 mic inputs but you gain a ton of processing power, just have to ask yourself if you really need more than 2 mic inputs.

@vincent moto What other unit? I need a new audio interface. I didnt want to buy the apollo because a new one would be available soon. I was using my Mpc X as the audio interface until this dropped. Now I can track my Mpc X and vocals using 8 inputs and outputs. Plus I get plugins that I need like the distressor, api 2500, api channel, and massive passive. Im always upgrading. The Mpc X is a drum machine used for sampling. I been satisfied with it.

monkey dangus seriously, I bet the specs are good and make a DECENT difference but the end result is the same you’d get on an Apollo Twin Quad, you can easily tear up a mix on these new X’s during the post stage if you just don’t know what you’re doing, same with the new Native Instruments stuff. Word of advice, if you already got nice gear, don’t upgrade, make your music and get better, this is just extra jargon jibberish that won’t really matter at the end of the day when you’re playing your track through your basic car stereo system, work with what you got.

No, they mention several times on the product pages "sub 2ms latency".
@motoservo
@motoservo 6 жыл бұрын
1ms is roughly one foot of sound travel. You get more latency from the monitors to your ear. Or the delay of a drummer hearing his own snare drum.

Can two pairs of monitors be connected to the x6?
@sweetwater
@sweetwater 4 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Great question. Technically speaking, the answer is yes. However, I would recommend a monitor controller if you want to use more than one set of monitors. There are lots of fantastic options for that that will ultimately give you a little more tactile control (not just control through the software) and allow you to use those line outputs for other cool things like outboard gear. I'd love to chat more about it if you'd like to give me a shout at the contact info below! STILL. No thunderbolt cable included. WHY :D Is there a reason? Someone tell me.
@neonether
@neonether 4 жыл бұрын
Because buying 1 Million thunderbolt cables would cost the company like 8 million dollars. Much easier to expect the customer to integrate it into their own thunderbolt set up and if you don't already have a cable, spend the $15-20 and buy one.
@onlygknows7793
@onlygknows7793 4 жыл бұрын
@@neonether When you are making 400-500 mil from your customers not including the expensive plug-ins, 8 mil is just a drop in the bucket. There is always a company that comes along that is not as greedy as the last one and soon takes over the market.
@neonether
@neonether 4 жыл бұрын
@@onlygknows7793 I'm sure that argument would convince their board of directors. "drop in the bucket" guys, come on. You can't discuss revenue in the context of what it means to them without knowing the costs, which we don't. Therefore by not including accessories that people will usually already have with their TB-ready computers, they SAVED $8 million or so, which could be the difference between a profitable or losing product. Who knows, maybe the next company is already making a superior product WITH TB cables included. We'll see if they can topple the giant.
