THE RETURN OF BEATS HEADPHONES!!!!!

why would Jacquire King have the krk's sitting flat on the desk miles from his ears? why would he be mixing with beats headphones- known for their terribly biased eq response? how about a session where you show the mixing of a track, the setup of isolated instruments, how plugs were used- reverbs eq's busses etc etc

er..... it's not a masterclass, it's about making it look cool so as to sell gear and software I'm afraid

Sounds awesome... Added bonus, if you close your eyes, it sounds like Kermit the frog singing.

Love this vid! Those guys have serious chops, and Jacquire is doing his usual superb job. As for the Beats, why not use them to monitor the tracking? They have good isolation. I would be a bit surprised if they were used for final mixing (notice the monitors on the desk), but Jacquire could probably mix on cheap earbuds and make the song sound great. They don't give Record of the Year Grammys to just anyone, ya know. :-)

What mic is inside the bass drum?

what kind of bass are they using?

This sounds better than the album version for the most part! The backup vocals sound a bit too processed, but otherwise a great job! As for beats and KRKs, why drag around expensive monitoring for mobile tracking? They should do the job perfectly fine.

Does anyone recognize any of the mics used in this live recording?

***** Advertising is taxed. In several countries, (co-)funding an artistic production allows for tax deductions. Hence, this is a double hit: no taxes paid and consumers don't always perceive the appearance of the product as advertisement, making this much more effective (advertisement)...

+Ian K I don't think that he used this for the recording, or the mixing session. (i hope :D) As mentioned below, it was an advertisment.

+Ian K its just for monitoring... he´s using the krk´s and pro acs for mixing ;)

so he's wearing beats? and getting some dollar off apple and dre... who can blame the guy -- i'd do the same myself and he definitely went home after that and mixed it all on his familiar set up anyway

Disgusting to see you're using the most overrated headphones available. Also, it doesn't seem your YT guy knows what compression is. The song is great, I just think you have to ally with better people.
