I really love mine, it’s perfect for collaboration. I upgraded from an Apollo X2 Silverface and the improvement is significant. Price is also significant with these units but it’s a very stable and high quality system that will outlast you for years.

Hi Archie, the Apollo X4 is in my studio right now! Love it! I wanted to buy a Twin X first. But I also wanted to purchase the UAD ultimate 10 with the discount. And it turns out that with the Apollo X4 you get more heritage plugins which qualifies for the discount. So the Apollo X4 together with the UAD ultimate 10 discount amounted to the same as the Apollo Twin X with the UAD ultimate 10. So glad to have the Apollo X4 and have all the plugins and Unison PreAmps! Now I need to watch your channel for good microphones! Love your home studio 👌🏻

Hi Archie, great video! Also nice to hear some positives again relating to UAD after lots of people questioning if the UAD ecosystem is still relevant with M1 chips and native plugins. I just can’t believe you said you find the protection plastic ‘cool’ lol 😎 For me that is just the same as ‘I find the box it comes in so cool I only take the top off and use it in the box’ hahaha Just so you know, I now purchased an Apollo X4 👍🏻

Actually my first REAL interface was the Apogee Duet Firewire and nothing came close that things quality. I'm sure the Apogee symphony's are the same and better quality. Yeah the Symphony Desktop sounds noticeably different than the Apollo. I prefer the sound of it but if I want to track with Autotune I have to monitor through my DAW. I’ve been doing tests for a whole week and it’s hard to say which is better. Nothing beats the console for low latency recording because uad has some dope plugins and you can track with Autotune!

@@jacksp8de Hey Jack, not sure what you decided on but I was in the same boat trying to choose between x4 and Apogee Symphony and I read that Apogee doesn't do well with driver updates. Once I went down that rabbit hole of reading UA was winning me over.

Excellent review and very helpful. For just recording mostly in the box midi with occasional guitar input and vocals, I have no desire to record multiple instruments at once. Is this Apollo sufficient or do you think the X8P has a much better sound quality or other advantages? I would love to stay at this price range, but I would also hate to be so close to the next level up and not just bite the bullet if it’s that much of an improvement that I may want later.

I love this interface and I am confused between RME UCXii and Apollo X4. Initially, I was very sure about buying Apollo X4 but after watching so many comparison video between RME and Apollo, 90% of the people supports RME over UAD. Can someone suggests me the same? I am runing a Macbook M2 Max 2022 Model.

I totally understand. My honest opinion is that UA Apollos work for me. The ecosystem and x16 conversion is great. Not to say that RME isn't great. They are fantastic as well but as far as preference, UA works for my workflow. I hope this helps.

I am trying to decide between the Apollo x4 and the x6. I still don't understand why the x6 only have 2 mic pre amps even when everybody said the x6 it's better but the x4 have 4 of it. Please can someone help me?

Hey Archie Beatz, thanks for the response. I am good here in the UK-after experiencing some crazy temperatures last week 🥵😄. I thought that it might have better converters, so thanks for confirming. Although, the plugins and also the fact that it would allow me to connect multiple monitors and possibly get rid of my monitor controller is very appealing too🙌🏾😄. And whilst it is quite high on my list of considered purchases, but the KH750 sub trumps that right now and I have my sights set on that🙏🏾😂😄. Looking forward to seeing more from you. Stay blessed🙏🏾

It has a Thunderbolt port on it, but when I look up Specs on the Apple website, they all refer to using the Thunderbolt port for output (Display etc.) rather than input

I'm planning on buying the Universal Audio Apollo x4, and a Shure SM7B microphone, but I already own the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 ohm headphones that are amazing but have a very low volume because they are 250 ohm. In order to drive better and get maximum volume from my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 Ohm and Shure SM7B headphones, do I need to purchase additional preamps for the Universal Audio Apollo x4. At the moment I am using the Saffire PRO 26 which does not provide me with maximum volume for Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 ohm or Shure SM7B headphones, which also require extra power to drive properly. Do I NEED an External Mic Preamp and headphone Preamp? Or is Universal Audio Apollo x4 Interface good enough?

Does the Solo and the X4 or Twin have any difference in sound? I know that the Solo isn't as good as handling as many plugins as the others but for single sound quality is there a difference? Thanks

With the x4, I've noticed slightly better conversion (99% of the general population will not hear or notice). If the solo could handle more plugins, it would be a difficult decision if I was on a budget. Also, now Spark exists which changes up everything. In conclusion, if I was on a budget, the Apollo Solo would work out just fine. I hope this helps.

Hey what's up bro? It's the Neumann U87 Ai > Neve 5211 (silk turned all the way up> UA 6176 (only the 1176 compressor side) > Apollo x4. I hope this helps.
