Thanks Mike, bought it a few days ago and recorded some vocals and right away I fell in love with the warmth and simplicity of the 6176, have the Avalon Vox box 1073 and Api, 88rs, but this one is the sweet spot for us!

Im seeing a lot of people saying "Why did they even make this?" But I dig it. I even have a hardware 6176 and Id still enjoy this plugin. I get it - yet another 1176... Who needs that. No one. But a classic channel strip with a familiar interface, awesome GUI, added features over the hardware unit and switchable compressor options *within* the plugin, saturation, EQ, mix control for parallel compression, low tilt to control what triggers the threshold, what's not to like? I DO wish they would make all their compressor options switchable within the plugin. That would be cool

UA has become such a joke in my personal opinion. They didn't even manage to make the 1176 and LA2A usable in series or parallel, which would have made the plugin at least kind of interesting. Also they didn't improve on the Modeling, still the same as the 10 year old 610 plugin. Don't even get me started on that whole LUNa thing. Thanks Mike though always happy to see you work!

Why has UA been selling their plugins at the recent new price points that reflect massive devaluation? Did they really lose their competitive edge? Have their competitors caught up with them?

Since earnings/profits are shrinking in music industry, most of the folks can't afford expansive plugins, companies are forced to adapt 'subscription model' & 'Discount' model. All the software companies are doing that. Softube is the latest one to join the bandwagon,

They have to adapt there’s too many good quality plugins in what’s an over saturated market, they have to be more accessible and more gimmicky

UAD has gotten complacent there’s no innovation I think most of us were expecting them to continue creating hardware emulations but all we’ve got are the most useless plugins being converted to native with no real innovation
