Thanks for such a great demo! Started using it the past several days and love it on everything. For the vocal remic, you may want to lower the level on the “room” mics and focus the signal on the direct mic.

Great video and song! I would like to hear a completed before and after mix. It seems to me that this plugging would only work for tracks that were recorded in a flat dry room but I'm no recording engineer. Thanks for the video. 😎

Pardon me if I am wrong, but there seems to be a RH out of phase element in the stereo drum track, which gets emphasised on some of the examples? Plugin could be useful, though... agree on the vocals.

I loved it on the acoustic guitar. Guess I'll have to use a little more reverb on acoustic guitars, because that made me feel all fuzzy and warm inside.

Nice demo, actually prefer the Ocean Way Studios plugin as it runs on dsp as well which can make a difference on sound as artifacts goes from the load on the CPU.

Ocean Way Studios is the same type of plugin from UAD, so this is not the first of it's type, but Ocean Way Studios is not native (yet!), so this is great to have, and also seems to have a bigger feature set.

I'm not getting it. How useful is this much control over reverb? Or microphones? Listening using my phone here, it basically just sounds like you're adding too much room verb to things, and just changing the EQ. Hey, a great song is a great song, regardless. I guess I'm going to have to play with this thing, huh?

Most demos of this overdo it massively. Use in reverb mode and blend to taste and eq the return to clean up mud.

No mention of the massive CPU hit, and that it's not DSP, only native.

Not only that, they make you download this companion app called UA connect and that app is not accessible for people with vision challenges and who have Max that are really slow. The app crashed my Mac several times I have an account with universal audio but I wish that they could just give the plug-ins without having to download companion apps that don't work properly. And yeah I totally believe that this app is very CPU intensive because the companion app the UA connect app that you have to download is also very CPU intensive.

my M1 Max is the equivalent of 30 UAD Octo units or more.....that's tech from 2015....1 or 2 % at the most....I can run 50 to 100 instances of this...or more.

@@iamjiroeUA Ahead? Disagree. I just tried LUNA with some of their demo plug-ins. Although LUNA has a nice look, it is far behind so many other DAWs in terms of features. Their API console is no better than Lindell’s. And their Manley emulations are second to Pulsar’s. (See Dan Worrall’s review of Massive). There are great companies like Softube, McDSP, Sonnox, Arturia, PSP, Acoustica Audio. I don’t think UAD is above them at all. Regardless, I purchased their Pultec package and the Sound City emulations. But two things were awful right off the bat: 1- You cannot use their plugins unless you are online? Seriously? Just a horrible practice. 2- During installation they slam your computer with over 650 demo plug-ins! Talk about a cheap sales tactic. I now have to go through my computer one by one and start deleting these things, because there is no uninstall button. I am absolutely furious. I will never buy another UAD product until they fix the overall experience.

That's not the same. Capitol Studios is a chamber that you send the signal too. That plugin works much like a traditional reverb. The Ocean Way Reverb was closer to what this is. However with this plugin they didn't model just the mics, they modeled the whole signal chain as well as added more bells and whistles that you can change the sound with.
