I have the same one and while it does work great, one day I had to adjust and move it up a bit to balance my cargo carrier and saw that the rubber pads and hook rubber pads left a yellow stain mark. I cannot buff it out. I may have to send it out to get wet sanded and if that doesn’t work I’ll have to repaint my roof.

How do you loosen it?

Push down the black push bracket inside and make sure it’s pushing down on the ratchet (should kinda toggle open and stay in a certain position then close the ratchet while the lock is closed and you should be able to remove it. Took me two hours to figure it out

Not if you try to scratch your paint otherwise it won't. Just be careful and you'll be fine

One of my straps was bent the wrong way where it fits into the door clip. What a pain in the Butt, it wouldnt rachet up and once pushed in I couldn't get it back out the slots were back to front. Took me nearly an entire afternoon, some Chinamans laughing his head off lol

are the feet supposed to line up w the cracks that run along the top of the vehicle or is it fine for it to just sit on top?

It's supposed to sit on the rain gutters and tie in with the hooks

Open the tab where the key goes, unlock it, and there should be a tab that you can pull up. That should release the strap.

@@WelcmeTo1984 did that didn't work i had to take it a part and pull the pins out and reassemble it , the next time i use a wire to keep them where they go or zip tie, after the pins are removed you can pull the tab out , put the pins back and do what you did or the same process again
