Universal Florida E.T. Adventure HD-POV Complete Experience Orlando

E.T. Adventure is a dark ride featured at Universal Studios Florida and formerly, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Universal Studios Japan theme parks. The ride is based on the movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. It was expected to open at Universal Studios South Korea and Universal Studios Dubailand in the near future, but plans for both of those parks were eventually scrapped.
E.T. Adventure originally opened at Universal Studios Florida in 1990. One year later, the attraction opened in Universal Studios Hollywood. In 2001, the third installation of this attraction was opened in Universal Studios Japan. On March 14, 2003, the Hollywood version was closed and later replaced by Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride. More recently, on May 10, 2009, the Japan version was closed and later replaced by Space Fantasy: The Ride. E.T. Adventure was supposed to be an attraction at Universal Studios South Korea and Universal Studios Dubailand, but both parks were eventually canceled.
The attraction at Universal Studios Florida originally featured a different pre-show which ran from 1990-2002. During this pre-show, Steven Spielberg is in a movie theater watching E.T. and informs the riders that we have volunteered to be actors in a sequel to the film. The original pre-show was discontinued, because Spielberg wanted to change it for the 20th Anniversary. It should also be noted that the original pre-show was projected onto a large single screen, while the current one is shown on multiple TV monitors.

I actually did walk around it when I was working there behind the scenes. What's really cool about it is those are not LEDs that light up the city, but rather fiber optic strands with lights shining into them under the city.

sorry to say but yes the location here in hollywood closed a while back to make room for the mummy ride. i personally have not been on the mummy ride so im not sure how cool or "uncool" it is. however i used to be a ride operator for the ride E.T. and man i can tell you it was ots of work to keep that thing going. it was a fun place to work but man at the night when you have to walk that whole track late at night after the park closes to look for hats and such objects it was a bit creepy lol

Say what you will about this ride but it impacted me immensely as a child. From the thrills of the car chases, to the heart breaking sorrow of ET's home planet to his joyous return & the wonderful surprise at the end, it was truly magical. I returned to Universal today and encountered that same whimsical, childhood wonder. It was a truly beautiful thing and I feel blessed to have experienced it - Godspeed to the creators of this unforgettable journey and all those who've kept it so!

It takes me back to my childhood every time; especially the smell. This is one of the only surviving original attractions left at universal. Simpsons while beautifully designed doesnt come close to back to the future as far as thrill goes. I never want this ride to ever leave Univeral. I'm not from the 80's but my parents are and its a great era. I learned all about old 80's movies and such when i was small which makes it exciting my teachers and adults i know. They are shocked to see how I know such things from their era and how into it i am and how awesome and amazing i think it is. people say its old and should go and many kids don't know or get it but it should be passed on to kids from their parents to share great history and how good movies were in the 80's.

I think E.T. is one of the best rides at universal for a few reasons; 1) The line (including the smell) is really cool and immersive. It's a really cool forest and you get to see the umbrella thing ET used to phone home. Every once in awhile his teacher rises through must and says something ant that's pretty epic. 2) The actual ride is pretty fun. You actually feel like your in the movie and E.T. rides in the basket. Although I don't understand why all of the aliens look completely different from E.T. when you arrive on E.T.'s planet, this must goes on you, it gets really humid and you feel like your actually on an alien planet. 3) Arguably the best part of the ride is telling the person your name so E.T. says it at the end. But of course you never say your actual name. You always say something ridiculous and it sounds hilarious when E.T. makes his horrible attempt at pronouncing it. Mark my words, if they ever shut it down I WILL Allah ackbar whatever comes after it.

This was one of my two favourite theme park rides as a child (the other being Disney's Star Tours). It's so underrated!!!! This film + ride made me fall in love with the pacific northwest. Make sure you see the ride before it's gone, as everything inevitably passes in time.

This ride will always be my favorite. I still remember E.T saying goodbye Santa because a man who looked like Santa had his name on his driving license santa. The person at the counter thought the guy was joking about his name until he should them his drivers license. What was wierd was while we were in line me and my sisters asked him if he was santa and he said yes i am and then said all of our names and that we shouldn't be fighting he also mention what we had been fighting about before we came. What was even weirder was the fact that we never mentioned our names and he knew all our names. He was in front of us in the line too.

What I don't understand, is that it took E.T. weeks to learn English, but apparently all his friends speak it fluently. And Elliot gave the name "E.T." to the alien, so there is no way that his people on his home planet would know that name. This was my favorite ride as a kid!!! I remember I used to get so happy at the end when he says your name because I thought he really knew who I was. I was so sad when the replaced it with the mummy :(

Here In L.A. I really miss this ride, As a kid, I always loved this ride....It was so enchanting & so happy & also VERY CUTE & ADORABLE. Just watching this again made my cry a little :'( not just with sadness of how I miss this ride,but with happiness that I experienced this amazing ride.

E.T is my favorite movie of all time and when I went to universal when I was 11 all I wanted to do is go to the E.T ride I begged all day and when I finally went on it it made me so happy like it had the music from the original and even the Forest area when you’re in line I just wanted to stay and admire because it was like I was in the movie and obviously when ET said my name I was amazed.

It looks bad to me really. I always wonder why can't ANY studio make a good replica of E.T. ? All of those look so horrible! Nothing like the puppet used in the movie! And talking plants and mushrooms remind me more of the "Neverending Story III" than E.T.
