Universal holster with light

I got this holster last year. There have been some changes to it since your video. Thanks for doing this video all those years ago it helped me decide on a universal holster that would keep me from having to buy a bunch of different holsters. This one really does work quite well and I have never had any issues with it in regard to retention or protection of my chosen pistol at the time of use. The main change is that the button on the snap is no longer exposed metal. It is now a rubber backed button so there is no worry about holster wear now. Also you did not mention it so not sure If it is a change but they now put some Velcro on the inside where the light or laser would sit so if you do not have one on the gun the holster stays tight around it. This is a universal holster so it will fit a lot of different guns I have even gotten away with putting a k frame Smith and Wesson and a j frame Rossi revolver in it when I did not have a suitable holster. I had to remove the nylon on the inside so the barrel of the 4 inch k frame was sticking out of the bottom but it worked.

I know this is an older video... but still very relevant... you are right on with the height adjustment and length of drop (great description)... these holsters are about $45 (or less!!) on ebay, at this time

Thanks for the review. FYI if you want to protect your gun finish you could tape the back side of the button or sew another strip of what ever you want to cover the button. Thanks

It can be run with two straps. It came with two, I set it up for just one, to keep the weight as high on my leg as I could.

Yes, it will get wet but it is all nylon, so it should dry fast.

Nice. That snap cap that's touching the gun. Just add some liquid electrical tape on it. Ia few coats should work fine. But let it dry fully before adding another coat.

Nice review. Just got this holster the other day. I've got it adjusted but I think it still sits too low. That's a great idea of removing the quick connect to the belt to move the holster up. Do you find your Sig rocks back and forth a bit in the holster without the light? I can't seem to get the bellows for the light tight enough to keep it from rocking.

U do know that they make the Omega elite for your exact pistol for about 20$ cheaper. I want this but for 85$ its tuff to bite the bullet and buy. I might just get the Elite and hope my xdm fits lol

great review. I know you touched on it briefly, but how much does the holster slide around when it's on your leg? I bought another thigh rig (it was relatively cheap, and I don't remember who made it) and it slid around terribly, so that concerns me.

the only thing I am concerned about is my threaded barrel that sticks out a bit in the front of the gun. I worry about after shooting like 60 rounds and reholstering that it burns through the nylonstrap at the inner bottom of the holster. what do you think about that

why would you carry a small revolver in a drop holster ment for full size pistols, i would recommend a in the waistband for that gun because its so small

about the button lock, let's say i'm doing running and gunning drills, do I need to put that button lock on or it holds the gun well without it like a kydex?

It holds well, not going to fall out. But not as good as kydex

Do you think this would fit an FNX 45 with light? Also you said it sits high without the quick discomfort and you only use one strap, does it move a lot or is ut secure? I bought a condor tornado holster with two strap but it moves around way too much. Great review btw

The problem is the single strap down and no rotational sections it doesn't prevent the swinging around.

Comes with two leg straps. I prefer using one. Locks in very well.

I have a condor drop-leg holster, looks very much like this, and my fnx 45 tac fits with a vortex venom just fine.
