Forbidden Journey is truly a great experience. Been on so many times that I can’t count them. Best time was when it broke down and we went through the whole ride with the lights on and saw the ways and means of how the ride works. Awsome.

This is a great documentary that explains all of the current attractions at Universal Studios Florida. Even though many of them are primarily motion-based, which often geeked out some neophiles who visited in the past, they often recreate an old-school special effect called scenic perspective which features backgrounds projected behind the actors to simulate them being at a certain location.

The most jaw-dropping immersion Universal Studios could ever create, would be turning the “Transformer” franchise into “great film.” I understand why top-tier theme parks are shifting toward developing simulation attractions, they’re cheaper to maintain, have a higher rider capacity, and are easier to update; unfortunately, their focus on themselves over visitors will inevitably backfire. The ride experience itself is already feeling outdated no matter the number of gimmicks thrown at it. Being a fan of them ultimately becomes a prerequisite to enjoy the attraction.

All rides cost tons of money to operate. Getting in the parks costs tons of money, buying foods, gifts, etc costs tons of money. They have no problem charging us up the butt, but are skimping on the actual ride designs now. Harry Potter isn't the best thing to happen to the park, that would likely be stuff that happening in it's first few years. Also JAWS did not have to be drained to work on fixing mechanical issues, they had a scuba team.

+Trend101Warrior actually your wrong, Universal did not have to drain out all the water. The sharks were on lifts that would come out of the water overnight and for maintenance purposes

Agree, there isn't really a comparable feeling on Universal property to riding JAWS at night. Look how the ride functioned back in its heyday, and in the promo shown in this video. Sadly it wasn't maintained as it should've been, and watching the ride bow out like it did was just heartbreaking for someone who grew up going to the park in the late 90s.

Literally the Harry Potter areas are the best theming I have ever seen in ANY park, it out does Disney, I would pay the same amount just to go to those areas only. Even if you’re not a fan, you’ve gotta appreciate that insane amount of detail, and the incredible people that work there 100% committed to the magic. I will say tho...the Gringotts ride was disappointing. But I still ride it because of how incredible the queue is.

The hogwarts expresses is the biggest innovation universal has done yet. Because it links both parks together making it possible to get from one to the other without having to go back to the entrance.

Not everything is garbage, only fast and the furious supercharge, and Jimmy Fallon escape through New York. Simulations have been a staple of Universal Orlando since it’s opening, so that’s not even a fair statement to make.

Universal is doing what most companies do: get rid of the classics for whatever is the latest trend. In a time where 80s nostalgia is going strong, I find it hard to believe The Simpsons are more relevant than Back To The Future. I had an annual pass 5 years in a row, but then they closed JAWS for that Harry Potter BS, and I've never bought another pass since. I figure E.T. will be next on the chopping block, sadly. At least Disneyland still keeps classics like Matterhorn Mountain and Mr Toad.

that "Harry Potter BS" has caused universal orlando's attendance to skyrocket in recent years. With Jaws and Amity they could never surpass 6 million guests a year. Now they regularly exceed 10 million. I dont think they miss your annual pass lmao.

I was so pleased with the Simpson's ride - it is much better than the Back To The Future (good concept, poor implementation). But the Mummy is so boring and I wish Kong was still there. I hope the Dueling Dragons gets a good replacement, it was one of my favorite coasters of all time.

You thought adding Bellatrix and Voldemort to that part of the story would be compelling? NO, you fucked up the canon and it makes NO SENSE. I was so disappointed by Gringotts. The queue is AMAZING, but the ride leaves so much to be desired. Not only is it boring for a ride because it has a single drop on the "rollercoaster ride" there rest is pretty much just screens and becomes basically the same thing as transformers (one of the worst rides ever made) and spiderman (at least this is one of the best rides ever made). And also it shits on the entire canon. It makes NO sense for Belatrix and Voldemort to be in the bank, it is insulting to the story, insulting to the characters and insulting to the guest. Not to mention they didnt even use Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson because they were busy for that particular time they were filming but Universal is just so lazy they cant even wait. Diagon Alley is incredible, Hogsmead is incredible and Forbidden Journey is incredible but Escape from Gringotts is a pathetic excuse for a harry potter ride.

Many rides and attractions can’t make logical sense with the canon story to make the experience work with the park guests. The fact that they built a story in Gringotts that fits the overall wizarding world and includes park guests is amazing. You’re nitpicking over three of the major actors from the movies returning to film additional scenes for a specific ride you paid to experience. Come on...
