I can already see the unit testing assert(h*2+o == is.liquid)

This is such a powerful idea, it would enable you to use "source control" for example for storing formulas, their history and their interaction.it would allow you to electronically send chemicals to a fabricator somewhere (even somewhere not on this planet) or run an idea in a simulator/debugger

I'm kind of confused about his statement that chemistry is just some processes and not particle interactions. Maybe I just didn't understand the context he was saying that under, but there are several layers of chemistry including straight up the study of particle interactions both classically and quantum. How exactly does programming in process space unlock "everything"? So from another video of his it appears he means that data and discovery to fill "chemical space" will be brought on by programming in this more macro process space. I get the idea. Although, I always believe unilateral/concurrent chemical quantum computation (using both quantum and classical computers) will help with guiding that, just as it helps guide chemists right now. In fact they could both feed on each other.

It doensn't unlock everything. The point is that you can reproduce experiments at different laboratories, which as a chemist I know it is an enormous challenge. It may seem silly but basically you can't really reproduce a reaction or something unless you have someone show you EXACTLY how they do it , so there is a lot of informal know-how.

UPL already exists. Figuring it out is the problem. I would look for a manual in the DNA of a tartigrade or some kind of early lifeform that's been around for 700 million years (that's when interesting stuff started happening). It would have mutated. The manual would be corrupted. Another angle of attack would be A.I. If you can make a sequence where the n+1 term is superior to the n'th term, you will have your UPL. You would need to start with the easiest A.I. you can make. The easiest A.I. we can make will not be the first term. We will probably be at least 1000 terms in. The first term is 'TRUE.'
