I stayed at Sapphire Falls for my 40th birthday in May 2022 and it was absolutely fantastic!! The room, vibe, staff, everything was great! Easily the best part for me was the water taxi to the parks. It was so insanely convenient and quick! Also super close walking distance to Volcano Bay.

Universal Hotels are so brand new to me as someone who stays on Disney property more often. Sapphire Falls looks gorgeous with so many lovely offerings, and the rum bar is totally up my alley.

One of the greatest pro tips of all time... Book 1 night at a premier category resort to get 2 days of unlimited express passes. And change resorts for the remainder of the stay to save money.

Yes I agree with you. We did that on our last trip. We stayed at Hard Rock for a few days and then on our checkout day we switched resorts to Surfside and stayed a night but still used our Express all day that last day. 😊

I stayed at Cabana Bay but walked across the street and checked out Sapphire Falls and absolutely loved it! Strong Water Tavern was my favorite restaurant/bar. After checking out from Cabana, my friend and I hung out at the Sapphire lobby until we had to go to the airport because it's so beautiful.

After watching a video that Molly did at Portofino in the past, we booked there and LOVED it! Great food, beautiful resort, express pass, boat, it really had it all. I would go back in a minute! This looks nice, but the express pass was awesome!

Loved the video!!! We would love more tours of rooms with a bedroom that can sleep 3 in separate beds. Two of us snore and one is a brat and wants a separate room! We stayed at all star music with the bedroom that was featured on your “old” channel😊 and the dockside hotel with the bedroom. We want something (ha ha) affordable that we can ride the boat in to the parks!!!

We were at Sapphire Falls this same night…my son did venture into the pool when it was quite chilly that evening. I think he was warmer in the pool than we were sitting on the pool deck! 😂 We enjoy these reviews so much…super helpful! Would love to see a review of Portofino Bay!

When we stayed at Universal in 2022 for a couple of nights after our Disney World trip we chose the Royal Pacific because you get the Ultimate Express pass (beautiful resort!) .We did first choose the Sapphire doing the math, it made more sense for being in the parks for just 2 days. Our room was exactly the same as the one you are showing at the Sapphire (we had a pool/park view though) which we found for the money to be very small and tight - smaller we thought than what your get at a Moderate resort at Disney. Then again, at Disney we had a huge family suite at the Dolphin which made the Royal Pacific room seem even smaller.

My daughter deemed the Dutch Trading companies' coffee the best and she walked from Cabana Bay every morning to bring it back for us. We also went to Amatista's because of your last review of it. SO good!!!

I really like the looks of the Universal resorts. I don't really want to go to the parks except maybe to see Harry Potter stuff so I can see maybe going a day before a WDW trip and staying at one of them and just doing an afternoon/evening at Universal. I can't ride roller coasters or most 3D rides so that means most of the rides would be a no go for me.

I am a German TA and in December I had the chance to do sight inspections at all hotels at Universal Resort. Yes, Portofino is another league, but this one was my favorite!

My favorite resort in Orlando! The wings at the pool were sooooo good and we could see the fireworks over Hogwarts from our room. I loved every second of my stay there.

Thanks for this great review! I really want to try this hotel but we are only doing Disney World on my next trip to Orlando, staying at Caribbean Beach resort. I think the hotels are better value and quality at Universal, the rooms feel more modern. Royal Pacific is my favourite.

I normally frequent the Wave Hotel in Lake Nona. I had a stay at Sapphire Falls last year. The property is nice and has a lot of amenities but the room, even with the lagoon view, left a lot to be desired. Also, the pool has food/drink service and is open pretty late which is a plus but unfortunately the pool isn’t heated.

We recently stayed at SF.. and i couldnt agree with literally everything you said hahhaa. While we had a great time, I would rather either save some money and stay at a Prime Value OR upgrade to Premier. But no matter what, I will be back at Strong Water Tavern again. We loved it. Amatista Cookhouse at night for a dinner date is a better vibe and more food variety than breakfast. Its nice to get dressed up, linger over a meal, and walk out to the waterfall from the dining room.

I LOVE Sapphire falls. When we are trying to be budget friendly, we book sapphire instead of portofino bay. Strong Water Tavern is so fun, but I have never been a fan of Amatista. It feels overpriced for the quality of food. You’re much better off eating at city walk or in the park. Also the walk to Volcano Bay is surprisingly close! You just walk around the Adventura hotel and you are there, it probably takes about 5 mins.

Fun story: we stayed at this hotel once and within 2 hours of getting there my mom missed the last step on the stairs in that stone stairwell and ruptured her Achilles tendon lol place was still really nice though. We still had a great time 👍🏻

The conveniences (compared against Disney resorts look tempting). Valet parking & Room Service should definitely be offered by Disney at the Deluxe level. Also poolside service & room delivery of all my Harry Potter merch. I really wish there'd be more voices lobbying for Disney to bring that back.

The price differential between Sapphire Falls and the Premier resorts can vary a lot. My wife & I will be staying at Universal for four nights in June. In the past, we've stayed at Portofino Bay and Royal Pacific, in part to get the Express Passes. But this time, we've booked Sapphire Falls because quicker access to the rides isn't a big deal to us now. I'm not even sure how many days we may spend in the parks this time. SF looks to be just about as nice as RP; the main difference is the lack of Express Passes. And the cheapest rate at any Premier resort would be literally twice as much as the rate we're getting at SF! I think the rates at the Premier resorts are rising during peak seasons to better reflect what Uni considers to be the value of the included Express Passes, which after all can cost $300+ per person per day if purchased separately. So if you really don't care about Express, there's no reason to absorb all that extra expense. SF in our case is the smarter choice this time.

As far as I'm aware, bed covers in hotels are rarely washed or sent to laundry services. All sorts of things like unlean luggage or clothing from people jumping to lay on a new bed etc can contaminate the bed covers. It makes me cringe each time Allan lays face down on the bed covers.

The names Sapphire Falls and Dutch Trading Co suggest Indian Ocean island vibes but then Strong Water Tavern is Caribbean island vibes. And then Amatista, Spanish for amethyst which also found in Sri Lanka like sapphires, neither of which are found in the Caribbean. Theme seems a little scatter shot. I guess it’s a pan tropical island theme?
