7:24 - This gives us the opportunity to bring people to Universal Orlando for an entire week. That cannot be ignored. Think about how massive a sea change that would be. People spend THOUSANDS of dollars to go to Orlando for vacation, and they don't often stay for more than a week. If their entire week is spent at Universal between their three parks and one waterpark, Disney is SOL, my friend. Universal is no longer where people will spend their extra couple of days at the end of their trip before heading home.

My soon to be wife and i spent our first and second anniversary at universal and Disney respectively. Honestly we had more fun at Universal than we did at Disney. Even when we didnt get to ride the rides very much at both parks it was still fun. She absolutely LOVED harry potter world. And she never saw a harry potter movie until she met me. Disney just doesnt have the magic anymore. I mean we spent over 3000 bucks for two measely days there. The parks, the hotel and the flight. For three grand about 7 years ago that got you a whole week package deal.

I’m more excited about Universal Studios, even I haven’t there since the early 2000s, and I feel they’re putting a lot more effort than Disney is doing with their theme parks! Hopefully the ticket prices aren’t too expensive, because I can’t afford to take my family to expensive theme parks, and I went to Six Flags last year because of very cheap admission prices for a family of four!

This looks like a fine addition to their park. Many years ago I visited both Universal and Disney in Orlando. Both had great entertainment value, but I just can't see today's Disney movies working as two hour advertisements for their theme parks like they used to. To be fair, I don't remember many Universal movies over the last five years that would fit the bill either.

I've worked on stuff for all the parks. From what I have seen and worked on the stuff for Universal is amazing a lot of what I worked on 5 years ago is just starting to come to light. Disney is going to get spanked hard their reimagining and destruction of rides and expansion plans are not as good. In some ways it's disappointing since Disney was a big part of why I got into animatronics and the theme park industry. If you think Mario world is cool just wait to be blown away by what coming. I be there from time to time just to siting on a bench watching children, adults and families smiling and having a wonderful time. And I know I did my job.

In the past two years the family and I have been to both Disney World and Universal Orlando. We still like Disney, but they have become creatively bankrupt. Jamming boring and dated IP down your throats. They nickel and dime you to death. They took away things that were gratis at one point in time. We stayed at Art of Animation because we have a small kid and we spent most of our time in the parks so the room is just a place to flop out at at the end of the day, so it doesn't have to be fancy. And it wasn't. They didn't even clean our room once in the week that we were there. Meanwhile at Universal we stayed at Cabana Bay which is close to the cost, if not less expensive, of Art of Animation. And it blew Art of Animation out of the water. Leaps and bounds above AoA. Decor, service, access at Cabana Bay puts Disney to shame. We were blown away by Universal. Now with this third park, and don't forget Volcano Bay, we plan on spending our money at Universal. There will always be a place in our hearts for Disney, but they better get their sh*t together. Our family is solidly middle class and NYC middle class at that. Disney was BARELY affordable for us. There is no way in hell that a working class family can afford a trip there.

Well...I was already saving up money to hit Universal in like...2026 or so, might have to save for an extra year so I can hit THIS up, I'm really interested in what all will be offered at Dark Universe. I already wasn't gonna go till I had $3,000 saved up for Universal as is....I wouldn't try to hit up both halves without at least $5,000 I plan on staying at a cheap hotel anyway so the money is mostly for gas, food, tickets, and merch. Plus I'm going by myself and not with anyone else so that will save money too....not like I got much family left to go to theme parks with anyway....

Big words and little proof. All i saw was concept art and a bunch of clips from their movies. This both looks and sounds like Disneys Galactic Star Cruiser and Galaxys Edge all over. Difference is, Universal is not that W0ke and actually integrated the Hotel on the theme-park area. Never the less. It sound good... On paper. Im not that sure it will be the same IRL.

I could be wrong, I believe the new Harry Potter themed land was supposed to be solely based on the Fantastic Beasts series. But since it wasn’t well received, they decided to add the British ministry of magic in there. Again, I could be wrong about that

The ride within the British Ministry of Magic was always intended to be set in the 1990s, and tied to the original books. It is an attraction that going to be built near Diagon Alley, but then they wanted it to anchor Epic Universe. The “Fantastic Beasts” theme was always going to be loosely based on those movies. It is mostly a new location with a magical circus.

Disney destroyed Disney. Other companies like universal come into a market vacuum. What we need is a heathy completive marketplace for entertainment, otherwise we end up with another Netflix. These corporations need to work for their audience, not be given it for free.
