Join us for the Orlando Informer summer 2023 Meetup After Hours event at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure! We enjoy a late summer night in both parks, with unlimited food from so many venues, special characters, and an exclusive lounge for this summer - the Creepy Cay, filled with dancing retro beachy zombies, Frankenstein's monster and Dracula’s bride, tiki bars, a volcano and of course specialty tiki drinks! We have a blast mixing some of our favorite things - theme parks, SUMMER VIBES, SPOOKY HALLOWEEN VIBES, and food! And we get to see The Nighttime Lights At Hogwarts Castle, which is currently closed for refurbishment, but played specially for this weekend only.

I have no idea but I’m so glad they do it this way. I’ve been to so many after hours events where they claim to limit tickets but it’s packed and you can’t get much done. So this is really luxurious.

That theming with the volcano, tiki hut, dancers, monsters, and just the decorations in general looked so awesome. Coming August 9th and the videos I’ve seen of the western theme for this summer looks disappointing by comparison. Still super excited as it’s our first OI event!

I saw you guys around The Hulk on Friday! I wanted to say hi but I didn't want to interrupt ( and also my feet were absolutely killing me and I was ready to go to the hotel 😄). I saw so many things I hadn't noticed before (especially in Diagon alley). It is nice to just take your time and enjoy all the sights without all of the crowds.

This looked like so much fun! I loooove the themed bars they do for these events. I just wish the ticket prices were a little more affordable so that I could justify making the splurge! 😭 As an AP, it's hard to get myself to spend the extra cash - but I know the lack of lines and unlimited butterbeer would be amazing!

Totally, it's the special things like the themed bars and DJs and seeing the park in a different light with special things going on that appeals to me most, but I know it's the low crowds and food that really make the ticket price worth it.

Jackie, this is how I found you! I was looking for OI Meet-up vids on YT to prepare us for the 2020 June event and came across yours! I was immediately hooked by your fun personality, positivity and creativity. I have been following you ever since! 😁 You and Sam are just the cutest gems! I cannot wait for the day to meet you both in person. I am hoping to be at one of the Winter meet-ups and will look for you then. If not, I will be moving to Orlando next year and will be seeking you out whenever I’m in the parks. 😉 Since you know the Pughs, I have a fun challenge idea for the four of you that would make for a fun video at IOA! The challenge is ride/ do all attractions at IOA in alphabetical order. One team starts at A and goes forward and the other starts at Z and goes backward. Whichever team finishes first, is the ultimate champion! You could even throw a few snacks in there so you don’t go hungry, but they would have to be eaten where they come in the alphabet. This is my idea but of course you could all do your own fun spin on it. 😉

Turtles!! 🥹 We're dying to get back for another Orlando Informer event. Our last one was the winter event in 2021, and it's been _way_ too long. Plus, the whole system for food and snacks has been overhauled since then! Love to see that almost every restaurant is participating in the event now. And Woody Woodpecker, are you KIDDING ME!? 😍 Talk about a rare character! As Sam pointed out on the podcast, precious few kids in today's world will even know who Woody Woodpecker is; that character meet is _just_ for us legacies who grew up with his obnoxious laugh following us around. LOVED the Creepy Cay, zombie dance and all! Frankenstein and his bride are looking iconic as ever - but Franky needs a haircut! 😂 Now here's the big question...do we think that Orlando Informer will shift gears to Epic Universe someday, or will they forever stay on campus at the original two parks? 👀 I guess time will tell! As Universal expands in creating different lands, is there any talk of having longer park hours?

Park hours tend to be later in the summer and more busy seasons, but shorter during the week and slower seasons. I would love if the parks stayed open later, too. We’ll see what they do with EPIC Universe!

The prices vary, it’s lower at first and it goes up closer to the event. It also depends on if you do one day or two days. I don’t want to give you a wrong price because it does differ by event, time of year, how early you purchase, so I’d rather suggest visiting the Orlando Informer Meetup site and seeing the cost of each event. They can range from about $230-250, but sometimes less, sometimes more. The best deal is to get them the day they drop the tickets, they’ve heavily discounted!

I honestly didnt enjoy this OI meet up as much as I have in the past. Before this meet up, we had already planned on doing the meet up in November. I think now that I am going to have to give it some time before I decide if I even want to do another one.

They do them seasonally, so there’s usually one per season (but now two in the winter). And they do the different special things that are themed to the season too. That’s my fave part.

Of course! We have been going since 2019. I just went online and bought tickets for my first one because it sounded fun, and really enjoyed it. :) I would say to buy them as early as you can, because they actually do limit the sales and they sometimes sell out, just to make sure you get the date(s) you want.
