You have literally talked me out of suicide, simply because if we don't know if we have a purpose, then I can live knowing that just because I couldn't do what my parents expected from me, I might not be a worthless waste of human life. Thank you Vimoh. Please let me know how I can get in touch if I want to have a discussion, my areas of interest are more or less the same as yours & I'd be ecstatic to learn more from you :)

You (and very few other people on the internet) are doing a very important job for this country - teaching people rationality in this country, which is ruled by faith. Kodos to you Vimoh. Although I discovered your channel very recently, soon it became one of my most favourite channels on KZbin. There are a very very few places on the world that I can access, where I can breathe freely, not becoming suffocated with meaningless, useless lectures that come from a very shallow understanding of the world and human life, and with watching people blindly following learnt behaviour which they never think about asking questions to. What's then the purpose of living a human life at all, I wonder! In this suffocating world, your channel comes as a fresh air. At the end of your video, you said "you can also treat this video as entertainment.." yeah, true. Such contents really entertain me.. by providing necessary nutrients for my brain. Thanks for that. Lots of love and respect.

Even if we believe that a creator created all the universe, then the main question arises is 'why did he created this universe?'. If human was the reason then why god waited so long, why he created Dinosours and then killed all and then created human? There's no point a creator exists.

Aisa, hum bhramand ke liye nahi keh sakte. Ye isliye kyun ki, na tumne ya mene bohot saare bhramando ka janm dekha ho. What I mean is, tumne ye maan liye hai, ki hum kele hai, aur baaki chilke, what is the true goal of a conscious creator, if there is one, can not be attributed to ourselves, just because we want it to be.

The universe, in its grand tapestry, unfolds not for a preordained purpose, but rather for the **ineffable dance of existence itself**. It is a cosmic ballet, where galaxies pirouette through the vast expanse, stars ignite and fade in a fiery waltz, and the very fabric of space-time ripples with the echoes of an ancient song. There is no predetermined script, no grand conductor wielding the baton of fate. Instead, the universe plays by its own rules, a symphony of **unyielding laws and spontaneous whimsy**. Gravity, the unseen maestro, guides the celestial bodies in their graceful movements, while quantum randomness adds a touch of improvisation to the cosmic score. Black holes, with their insatiable appetites, act as the dramatic villains, while the birth of new stars heralds the arrival of hopeful protagonists. Supernovae explode in a blaze of glory, leaving behind shimmering nebulae as poignant reminders of the constant cycle of creation and destruction. This cosmic play, though devoid of a singular purpose, is not without meaning. It is a testament to the **magnificent creativity and boundless potential** inherent in the very fabric of reality. It is a spectacle of beauty, awe, and wonder, a stage upon which the drama of existence unfolds in all its breathtaking complexity. Therefore, we, as fleeting players in this cosmic drama, are not mere spectators. We are participants, compelled by the same creative force that birthed the universe. We can choose to observe, interpret, and contribute our own unique voices to the ongoing symphony of existence. In doing so, we become integral parts of the grand narrative, dancing to the rhythm of the cosmos, even if there is no predetermined choreography.

Consciousness becomes a problem here. I often think about this. Why we are here ? And sometimes I do come to this conclusion that "we are just here" and there is no way to know why. What bothers me is why do we have the capability of reasoning and critiquing and questioning everything and even some of us (scientists) are already trying to figure out these big questions. So I mean what is it ? What do we do with all these questions ? Why do we have a central nervous system which can feel pain, wonder, makes judgements, questions and A LOT more, sadly to reach nowhere. I mean not exactly nowhere..scientists and seekers have figured out a lot of stuff. It's just so frustrating to think of all this. Why can only humans have "perspectives" at least in this planet. Ugh!

Hi Vimoh.. I think that reservations help oppressed communities get the opportunities to some extent but it cannot change the perception of the oppressors which is the key problem IMO. Having better education to the next generation(s) and instilling values that don't discriminate anybody in any way including caste. Also, running video/advertising campaigns to be more inclusive and antagonizing caste might help too. since you have stopped the debate format on your Vimoh Live channel, can you please make a video on how reservations can help uplift the oppressed? I don't understand the merits of the reservations well and would like to understand better. Your way of explaining has helped me understand the socio political landscape of India better and this would help better too. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Carl Sagan's "A Universe not made for us" is a thought-provoking philosophical explanation on the purpose that human ancestors have envisaged as an anthropocentric proscenium: "Our ancestors understood origins by extrapolating from their own experience. How else could they have done it? So the Universe was hatched from a cosmic egg, or conceived in the sexual congress of a mother god and a father god, or was a kind of product of the Creator’s workshop-perhaps the latest of many flawed attempts. And the Universe was not much bigger than we see, and not much older than our written or oral records, and nowhere very different from places that we know. We’ve tended in our cosmologies to make things familiar. Despite all our best efforts, we’ve not been very inventive. In the West, Heaven is placid and fluffy, and Hell is like the inside of a volcano. In many stories, both realms are governed by dominance hierarchies headed by gods or devils. Monotheists talked about the king of kings. In every culture we imagined something like our own political system running the Universe. Few found the similarity suspicious. Then science came along and taught us that we are not the measure of all things, that there are wonders unimagined, that the Universe is not obliged to conform to what we consider comfortable or plausible. We have learned something about the idiosyncratic nature of our common sense. Science has carried human self-consciousness to a higher level. This is surely a rite of passage, a step towards maturity. It contrasts starkly with the childishness and narcissism of our pre-Copernican notions. And, again, if we’re not important, not central, not the apple of God’s eye, what is implied for our theologically based moral codes? The discovery of our true bearings in the Cosmos was resisted for so long and to such a degree that many traces of the debate remain, sometimes with the motives of the geocentrists laid bare. What do we really want from philosophy and religion? Palliatives? Therapy? Comfort? Do we want reassuring fables or an understanding of our actual circumstances? Dismay that the Universe does not conform to our preferences seems childish. You might think that grown-ups would be ashamed to put such disappointments into print. The fashionable way of doing this is not to blame the Universe-which seems truly pointless-but rather to blame the means by which we know the Universe, namely science. Science has taught us that, because we have a talent for deceiving ourselves, subjectivity may not freely reign. Its conclusions derive from the interrogation of Nature, and are not in all cases predesigned to satisfy our wants. We recognize that even revered religious leaders, the products of their time as we are of ours, may have made mistakes. Religions contradict one another on small matters, such as whether we should put on a hat or take one off on entering a house of worship, or whether we should eat beef and eschew pork or the other way around, all the way to the most central issues, such as whether there are no gods, one God, or many gods. If you lived two or three millennia ago, there was no shame in holding that the Universe was made for us. It was an appealing thesis consistent with everything we knew; it was what the most learned among us taught without qualification. But we have found out much since then. Defending such a position today amounts to willful disregard of the evidence, and a flight from self-knowledge. We long to be here for a purpose, even though, despite much self-deception, none is evident. Our time is burdened under the cumulative weight of successive debunkings of our conceits: We’re Johnny-come-latelies. We live in the cosmic boondocks. We emerged from microbes and muck. Apes are our cousins. Our thoughts and feelings are not fully under our own control. There may be much smarter and very different beings elsewhere. And on top of all this, we’re making a mess of our planet and becoming a danger to ourselves. The trapdoor beneath our feet swings open. We find ourselves in bottomless free fall. We are lost in a great darkness, and there’s no one to send out a search party. Given so harsh a reality, of course we’re tempted to shut our eyes and pretend that we’re safe and snug at home, that the fall is only a bad dream. Once we overcome our fear of being tiny, we find ourselves on the threshold of a vast and awesome Universe that utterly dwarfs-in time, in space, and in potential-the tidy anthropocentric proscenium of our ancestors. We gaze across billions of light-years of space to view the Universe shortly after the Big Bang, and plumb the fine structure of matter. We peer down into the core of our planet, and the blazing interior of our star. We read the genetic language in which is written the diverse skills and propensities of every being on Earth. We uncover hidden chapters in the record of our own origins, and with some anguish better understand our nature and prospects. We invent and refine agriculture, without which almost all of us would starve to death. We create medicines and vaccines that save the lives of billions. We communicate at the speed of light, and whip around the Earth in an hour and a half. We have sent dozens of ships to more than seventy worlds, and four spacecraft to the stars. To our ancestors there was much in Nature to be afraid of-lightning, storms, earthquakes, volcanos, plagues, drought, long winters. Religions arose in part as attempts to propitiate and control, if not much to understand, the disorderly aspect of Nature. How much more satisfying had we been placed in a garden custom-made for us, its other occupants put there for us to use as we saw fit. There is a celebrated story in the Western tradition like this, except that not quite everything was there for us. There was one particular tree of which we were not to partake, a tree of knowledge. Knowledge and understanding and wisdom were forbidden to us in this story. We were to be kept ignorant. But we couldn’t help ourselves. We were starving for knowledge-created hungry, you might say. This was the origin of all our troubles. In particular, it is why we no longer live in a garden: We found out too much. So long as we were incurious and obedient, I imagine, we could console ourselves with our importance and centrality, and tell ourselves that we were the reason the Universe was made. As we began to indulge our curiosity, though, to explore, to learn how the Universe really is, we expelled ourselves from Eden. Angels with a flaming sword were set as sentries at the gates of Paradise to bar our return. The gardeners became exiles and wanderers. Occasionally we mourn that lost world, but that, it seems to me, is maudlin and sentimental. We could not happily have remained ignorant forever. There is in this Universe much of what seems to be design. But instead, we repeatedly discover that natural processes-collisional selection of worlds, say, or natural selection of gene pools, or even the convection pattern in a pot of boiling water-can extract order out of chaos, and deceive us into deducing purpose where there is none. The significance of our lives and our fragile planet is then determined only by our own wisdom and courage. We are the custodians of life’s meaning. We long for a Parent to care for us, to forgive us our errors, to save us from our childish mistakes. But knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring fable. If we crave some cosmic purpose, then let us find ourselves a worthy goal."

purpose of life samajhne se पहलेंहमे samajhna hoga ki what is life?? iske liye hum evolutionary perspective se dekhna hoga ki, what is simplest form of life jo ki ek cell hai, our cell ka purpose hum PTA kar सकते है उसे देखकर की वह कया करता है . hame pta chala ki purpose of cell is to to self-generate and self-maintain in a given environmental context. is hisab se hum keh sakte Hain ki purpose of life hai to stay alive and reproduce, ancient age me hamara survival sunischit nhi tha, hamare pass food paryapt nhi tha our Kai sare khatre bhi the. in sab need ko fulfill karne me hamara pura samay nikal jata tha, Lekin Modern times me hamare pass, Ek badi memory our Uski processing ke liye ek brain develop ho chuka hai. iski vajah se hamare ander ek self ki identity hai, jo ki ek living being ke liye jaruri hai taki vah jivit rah sake, ab yahi self yani ki mai, other mai se ladta hai apne jaruraton ko pura karne ke liye, our jo log en jaruraton ko pura karne me madad karte hain unse vah emotionally attached ho jata hai (iske liye aapko samajhna padega of emotions works in living beings) our jab us living being ki ya organism ki death hoti hai to uski memory bhi delete ho jati hai jo ki self ki identity create karti hai.

purane samay me hum jaruraton ko pura karne our khatron se bachne me busy rahte the lekin modern age me, hamare pass koi kaam hi nhi hai kyoki hamara kaam to keval khud ko jinda rakhna tha, ab vah self lonely hai our us Loneliness ko bharne ke liye vah , pahle kuchh imaginary chije banata hai our unko prove karne me lga rhta hai, Hamari memory language (words, associates to pictures ) per kaam karti hai, jaise computer kaam karte hain. jab hum Khali hote hai to en words me ulajh jate hain, jisko hum overthinking kehte hain. and we end up frustrated with headache. Aaj hame Jo social media ka lat lga hai vah purne samay ki khatron se bachne ke liye problem solve karne our resources dhundhne ke liye bani mechanism ka parinaam hai, Aaj hame koi khtra nhi hai lekin brain ko lagta hai ki vah , social media scroll karke bada achha kam kar rha hai, our Hume scrolling me mja bhi nhi aata and we end up miserable 😖, jivan ka purpose hota hai jinda rhna agar wo kaam ho gya to phir, Hume purpose banana padta hai our uske anusaar kaam karte rhna padta hai , death ho jaane Tak, isiliye Elderly people loneliness se gujarte hai our ve jabardasti bachhon ko kehte beta sun to jra, and apne bachhon ki attention chahte hai, that's it all for today friend good bye, take care!

kya isko aise dekha ja sakta hai, hume kuch kam karte samay pata nehi chalta iska purpose kya hai lekin when we see the broader picture we see every action has its purpose. hum abhi nehi jante iska kya purpose hai lekin humare life mein jaise har ek kam kuch na kuch purpose full fill karti hai yehan pe bhi aisa hi hai just humein pata nehi ab tak. lekin koi na koi to hoga because hona chahiye jaise humare life mein hote hai.

Well many people comeup with the "antropic principle" that the unvierse was designed to support human life all things which exist in the unverse is perfect which provees the existence of God. Many theist people who have knowledge of Astrophysics come up with this argument so what is the valid explanation for them

Every being is special in their own perspective. And this purpose metality has led to more positive things than negative, otherwise we would have been living in the stone age. The fact of the matter is that we reached where we are in the last 10,000 years is commendable. If we live with this mentality of meaningless creatures and everything around us, our society as a whole will collapse.

I beg to differ. Nature me dekha jaaye toh koi bhi janwar purpose ke bina paida hi nai hota bhale hi wo as a livestock for other animals hi kyu na ho, similarly apni har ek body part ka koi na koi purpose hota hi he just not a purpose someone who doesn't know biology could understand. Me manta hu we are not the center of the universe nor do humans have a grand purpose in larger scheme of things par even the very fact that we exist for the sake of diversity of existence is also a purpose. And if you think about it, for any species if were given a brain like we do, it's likely they'd be the dominant species and would start destroying nature like we do now. I'm not justifying it par ye bhi he ki population is an indicator of survival of the fittest and it's also the doom of so many interdependencies by the very fact such a sizeable population exists. Dusra I believe it's highly improbable for such improbable scenarios to play out such as to create different life forms we see now unless it was deliberate in some form or shape. Anyways to each his own; like you say we have no way to prove ourselves, both of us. Just a few years back, I was just like you but things happened in life that made me believe in stuff beyond my explanation just cause I have no way to debunking them even when I tried.

@@vimoh about purpose and function. Some great points there... still functions may together serve a purpose in the larger scheme of things. It's like the computers we had initially (even computers of today) with the purpose to calculate but function of gears in it is to move around in a timely manner, different plugs to control which ones move, etc. Ultimately it's all the moving parts together that drive a machine we find useful.
