New subscriber. Binge watching your content. I love it. I am struggling to get a lecturing position but working on it. At least I've had several ad-hoc lecturing opportunities in the past 2 years.

Getting a lectureship can be really hard, the ad-hoc opportunities sound like a good experience 😀

Can you make a video on the type of questions they ask during the interview? Why everyone is afraid to talk about it!

Even though I am in Germany and many things are different in the UK than they are here, it's always very interesting to watch your videos. There's one question I am curious about: Is it possible for a student in the UK to be offered a limited (adjunct) lecturer position for a particular class? In Germany, besides having Teaching Assistants (who mostly are students), it is possible for students to be paid lecturers. Though this usually only happens for Master's students for teaching Bachelor's classes or extremely experienced students who previously worked in the field of the class.

Thanks for watching 🙂 At my university we have PhD students who can be paid demonstrators and help support class (labs, tutorial questions) but they are not lecturer positions. You can apply to some lecturer teaching positions after your Masters, but many lecturer positions will require a PhD and Post Doc experience. Thanks for sharing!

How about becoming a college lecture at a community college,do you need PHD or MAster or bachelors degree....
@Dinosaurs_R_cool4 ай бұрын
You don't need a PhD to teach A levels. But you do need an appropriate undergraduate degree and a post-16/FE teaching qualification.

Do you think it matters what your exact field is to getting a permanent position at a university e.g. lecturer? Some fields are more popular and well funded then others for PhD's from what I've seen in biology and I was wondering if that makes a difference. Some topics seem more suited for the jobs in industry and universities I assume would want staff to cover a range of topics.

Hi, I'm coming from India and pursuing my graduation. I want to become college teacher in history. I don't know about the opportunity being selected as history teacher in college. Could you suggest some colleges best for history in UK and what are the methods for International Student to become a College teacher in UK?

I really enjoyed studying history at school. I'm going to see if I can get a few of my colleagues to discuss their route into teaching and lecturing on a future video; I can add history to the list! Thank you for the comment.

@@DrCST Hello Dr. Great video, thanks for sharing your ideas. My name is Oscar. I am a recent MSc graduate at The University of Edinburgh. I am applying to become a lecturer at College Universities in the USA. Since I am a recent graduate. How likely is to be selected to become a lecturer with no experience in teaching undergraduate courses? Thank you.
