This is such a great video thank you for posting! It's really useful to know what it will be like when I arrive next year (hopefully!) and see parts I didn't necessarily visit on the open day

Thanks for showing that. I was a student 43 years ago (1974 Electrical and Electronic Engineering). We were the first residents of Norwood House. The university has changed a LOT since then.

trevsie7 I was there as a postgraduate from 1999-2002 and the University has changed so much in the 15 years since I left. I can't imagine what it looked like in 1974 and the huge difference to now.

I was also a postgrad at Bath in the same years! (and I was born in 1974). I think there were only about 8000 students total when we were there. Already it felt pretty crowded. I prefer a more quiet environment. I don't think I'd like to be studying there now.

@@mpking-ey7ys still pretty small population in comparison to other universities. One of the reasons I picked it, very prestigious for my course as well ( chem eng)

The whole place looks like an airport meets service station meets Olympic Village. But as high a percentage of privately educated people study there as at Bristol. Shows how pretty Bath itself is then. And how much privately educated people sometimes like sport. Of the 1960s era universities, Exeter has a higher percentage though.

Hi! You said you start at 9 end at 6 with one hour lunch break. Is that really the case for all engineering courses? Can you explain the academic hours there! pls!! Thanks!!

+necrobreen I do chemical engineering at bath, done 3 years there. You'll generally have lectures of around 20 hours per week. They are generally an hour each and can be timetabled anywhere between 9 till 6. You won't be in lectures from 9 till 6, there'll be a lot of time to study in between

+necrobreen Robert is right, I just happened to be unlucky that the first semester I had two days out of the week in which I had lectures from 9 until 6, which as a new student was a shock to me. Somehow those two days made it seem like every day was like that for me since most of my last lectures in a day did end at 6 even if the first lecture of the day starts much later than 9. Either way, in my description I did say don't really trust EVERYTHING I say in the video as this video wasn't originally created to inform the public about life in Bath. This was just for my family and friends to see privately.
