The ladies in my high school choir sang this last year at our Christmas recital. Before the recital begins, the audience is asked to not clap for any of the songs or recitations until the whole shebang is over. When we finished singing this song, we got a standing ovation from everyone, including the man who asked them not to clap. Proudest moment of my life so far haha.

I remember singing this in my school district’s choral festival when I was high school. This song was in my head today so I had to find it on KZbin! It is amazing what we can remember. I had a huge crush on this one guy in one of the choirs and at that moment he was my true love. Memories!

Since this was apparently a Christmas concert, I guess they sang only the verses that pertained to Jesus's birth. I looked up the lyrics online, and there are actually 8+ verses that cover Jesus's entire lifespan, from birth, passion, resurrection, to ascension.
