Very interesting doco, though the comment about the sailors being dishevelled is probably not accurate. He says that had a long journey of many moths and first contact they would have been dirty, pure speculation, I doubt it. The first contact on hunter river was recorded as a boat going up the river, and finding a native on the bank, they took him aboard and cut his hair.......quite bizarre behaviour....I suggest the sailors were not being very nice to him and did it in a degrading way is my guess, probably seeing him as dirty? I cant remember the boat or the captain it was along time ago I read it, but if anyone knows the history of the area they will most likely be aware of it. The first contact is more likely to have been a recognisance ship from sydney rather than direct from months at sea and landing at central coast........
