Lord Irwin who visited Manipur in 1931 called it Switzerland of the East, perhaps due to rows and rows of misty blue hills, merging with the blue sky in the yonder. It is also called " Kashmir of the East", the Japanese army termed it as ''flower of the lofty heights". Its name attracts many people all over the country. Jawaharlal Nehru also called Manipur as" A Little Paradise On Earth." You can also mention about the polo which originate from Manipur .

You've missed Polo. It was started from Manipur. British officers like Captain Robert Steward and Major General Joe Sherer learned it from Manipuri players at Silchar Assam in 1833 (and founded the oldest Polo club in the world there). Known as Sagol Kangjei this indigenous game was part of their religious rituals. It simply was one part of the game, while the other two were known as Khong Kangjei and Mukna Kangjei respectively.
