Who is to say if the Dolly Parton statement didn't happen or get national attention (Felon Musk and convicted felon trump can praise nazis on twitter and that's a-ok) think about that. Would have kept doing gigs? Squidbillies was winding down also anyway the voice change just hastened the shows departure. He gave interviews as Stuart Baker out of character and talked about retiring after squidbillies ended. I think the twitter thing sped up his plans to retire.
