I know this channel is directed to therapists, but I use the information as if I were a client and it has been way more useful to me than actual psychotherapy I did in real life.

This channel is a treasure. And this series- the dark side of your emotional needs, especially has been so so important for me. Thank you.

Unpopular opinion: it is better to be ostracized from the group, than to fit in and inauthentic or be abused. It is better to be alone than lose your identity. Another good one!! How many groups did I join just to feel like I belong? Eventually I got the itch to get away the more my individuality was subdued. If it doesn't fit, it's not a match. Don't contort yourself to fit in. Thank you so much!🙏🏾 Past experiences learned and having the psych/historical education to back it up is even more affirming and grounding.

In Nuremberg where I have lived for many years, you can see many related permanent exhibitions on that matter. If you go there, you might want to see some of them. It is by far not over - and unfortunately it is not only a matter of humanitiy, forgiveness and understanding, but also of general education. This is what makes me not fear future, but be more attentive and careful for what goes on around me; it makes me very sad.

It would be interesting to hear your take on the opposite side of that coin, meaning, what about the unconscious psychological factors which effect the person who can never find a group which will accept them. Thanks...Love the videos.

I've been mulling over things like this since seeing that Tiktok cult trying to recruit youngsters, but also seeing how vulnerable everyone is at the moment cause of isolation. It's good to hear my concerns around it verbalised in a tidy way.

You are a wise man, and what you say in this video resonate well with what I've learned about group identity and sense of community, but it gives me not much satisfaction to know that I have always been right. Instead the validation this kind of information provides only makes me loathe and despise the humankind even more.

The f word is used to express many different feelings, ideas, reactions these days. It is ubiquitous in usage, having multiple meanings. This jump into common and frequent usage seems to have occurred quickly. I can't figure out if I'm just a prude or what? I avoid its usage because I fear my ability to express myself will be seriously limited. But I also recognize that I am offended by its usage. I do not believe in God and I am older and female. Is anyone else concerned about what the inundation into common usage of a once forbidden word means? I see it as a breakdown in boundaries and indicative of something lost without something gained that provides meaning in our relationships.

Great explanation of group psychology. I do wish presenter used the transatlantic slave trade as an explanation of how African people were dehumanised. Thus has had a lasting impact on the descendant of the transatlantic slave trade. Otherwise the video was great, informative.
