For those who want to bring Teclis, his Sword of Teclis item also gives you some Spell Mastery when used, so right befroe popping off a big overcast spell (like Flock of Doom here) it's always best to activate the item first to get best value.

That's the only thing that bothered me this game, Turin mentions it at the very start and doesn't use it. I don't think he made use of the Spell Mastery at all. I hope we see another High Elf Game, it's nice Seeing Teclis in action.

Turin, how about doing a meme tournament for charity where players pick their faction but the opponent builds their army list? Might be fun seeing how the worst lists do against each other (probably not as fun as I imagine, but it is an idea)

It seems as if High Elves struggle mightily on maps where their combined arms style isn't able to be utilized. And up against Slaanesh whip infantry is just brutal. Doubly so when their Shadow Warrior support just gets constantly run down. I noticed that since you had Skirmish mode turned off, you had to constantly split attention to keep clicking for them to run away. But all your opponent had to do is right click and forget. I understand the drawbacks of Skirmish Mode, but there is a time and place when it has short term use cases. Your Star Dragon was exceptionally powerful against enemy infantry, but was alone and couldn't be everywhere it was needed. I think every Convocation was at least mostly dodged, an indication of your opponents skill. Hmmm. As you said, HE isn't very familiar to you. Keep practicing them! I'd love to see you become more proficient in such a faction.

Fittingly, the few uses of Skirmish mode are usually with Skirmish units (fire while moving + 360 arc).

To be faire convocation is also very easy to doge. Unless the target unit is hard pinned down, any one with some decent attention can doge it thanks to its ridiculously long animation.

One of the more tough matchups for HE since they have a hard time dealing with whip warriors and their cavalry doesn't trade that great into chaos knights.

Fiery Convocation was also a mistake. That spell is already hard to place down thanks to its stupidly long animation triger, making it easy to dodge. But you also brought it against a speed faction like slaanesh, making it even easier for them to dodge.

Cool to see you playing High Elves. The Fiery Convos were all dodged. Their wind up seems too slow. The Star dragon was awesome. The Silverin Guard sure can hold, but something - like dragon - has to rear charge what they are holding.

I made yesterday a test 2 Khornedogs(not the flesh hounds) beat 1 silvernguard. Crazy. I think the Khornedogs are underused.

I see High Elves I click like 🙂 Perhaps Rangers could be good against the Daemonettes? Or the spell flaming sword because it imbues magic damage..? Swordmasters are always a risky pick but they are so cool! Shadow warriors I never understood how to use them properly to be honest. Star Dragon a total beast as always. Perhaps the net in Teclis might have been good. But I have this suspicion that High Elves are somewhat overcosted for what they bring to the table. GGs and happy to see you on the High Elves! 🙂

Nah rangers won’t trade well enough due to magic dmg surpassing their phys resist. And yeah HE need a slight buff.

Imo, cut the Spears, Shadow Warriors, Archers, Swordmasters and Silver Helms. Max out on White Lions, get at least 2 Phoenix Guard, and make sure to take The Fireborn. Ellyrian Reaver Archers could be good if you want missiles.
