They're Canadian. Power metal band from Victoria ,BC, but now out of Vancouver. Her name is Brittney Slayes(Hayes). She formed the band in 2007 with her partner, drummer Scott Buchanan. Guitarist Grant Truesdell does the harsh vocals. Guitarist Andrew Kingsley does some cleans in other songs. Bassist seen here is Nikko Whitworth, he left in 2018, replaced by Nick Miller. First song on their 4th album ,Apex. The entire album tells a story, which is continued on the 5th album, Abyss. Tonight We Ride is a good next step. Also try, Time Stands Still, Abyss, General of the Dark Army, and their cover of Northwest Passage.

Hey Rachel! Looks like you enjoyed that a lot! A couple of things: 1) At some point, you need to hear UtA's cover of Northwest Passage. From what I understand, it's "Canada's Second National Anthem," and it's a song that means a lot to many Canadians. 2) In 2020, I'm pretty sure I mentioned this, but UtA won a Juno Award for 2020 Metal Album of the Year, for Abyss. 3) You need to hear Brittney live! While not a UtA concert, react to Brittney in Edinburgh, Scotland, at the end of a tour, in a bar, singing Queen of the Reich by Queensryche. Her first note _still_ gives me chills! 4) The most epic song that has been done, in my opinion, is The Wind That Shapes The Land. I can't really say anything else, other than The Wind That Shapes The Land is UtA's magnum opus at this point. 5) This is a band that, if you dropped them into 1983, they could compete and win against Bruce Dickinson and Iron Maiden. UtA, and Brittney, are that good. Enjoy the ride -- because I know that if you hear more from UtA, you'll love them as much as the rest of us do! 🤘🤘

I discovered them when another react channel checked out this song. Was obvious immediately a fan. Heard this album was a concept album and that the second album had just been released. I immediately ordered both and waited until I could check out both until I could put them on the record player and sit down with a glass of rum in one hand and the lyrics sheet in the other and listen to the entire story all the way through... It was epic 😁👍

Now THAT sounds like a real party for any Introverted Metal-head who likes to drink! I love that idea! There are problems with it for me though; no money to go get a record player, no money for the vinyl albums and, well...I LOVE Rum, but Rum does NOT love me back... That was my first actual hang-over. NASTY. I suppose I could make-do but obviously I have to go the much more cheap way, listening from YT over the headphones. And it would likely just be a red beer or two, nothing so fancy as some proper Rum.... I REALLY WISH I could do things the way you did, though. That would be really cool. :)

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! AWAKENING To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die Come to me, awakening Follow my voice, come to me Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never Lighting my way in the night To roam; to never die

@@MarcelCox1 yes, Floor is on her private tour, also expecting her second baby, so it is no surprise that a five show in three days performance is not an option for her. This song might be a better introduction to the whole band. Tonight we ride is great when you already know what to expect and are half prepared for Britney straight up belting you to oblivion.
