My favorite Unleash the Archers song: Theme: Escaping an intergalactic tyrant who uses ritual magic draining the blood from her sons to remain immortal, getting away from her by using gravity slingshots to exceed the speed of light in your spaceship while contemplating their own imposter syndrome as to whether they're worthy and able to defeat the tyrant. The progression of their songwriting from their earlier stuff to Apex and Abyss is just fucking mental. Went from a band that I didn't mind but didn't love to probably my favorite metal band in the space of one album, then thoroughly reinforced by Abyss. Crazy. The solo in this btw? Absurd. The phrasing is phenomenal. Seriously, seriously talented musicians.

Totally feeling this now... the screaming vocals after the long bridge feel so powerful you think that they are just going to explode her vocal cords but Brit totallly holds it together on the brink. And then there is the Abyss track which i didn't really understand the epicness of.... Then one time I listened on shrooms and was totally feeling the themes of loneliness, hope, power, and connecting with that energy through her vocals. This music taps into some amazing mythological archetypes. Love how they intertwine through the whole album. I went to a live show in my home city, crazy good

Verse ] Once more we're flying fast as light Dark matter passing in the night Pursued by a force we can't outrun As we hurtle towards a dying sun [Pre-Chorus 1] We maneuver through the remnants of a moon On the solar winds of supernovas There is not a place to hide, the Matriarch is close behind It's plain to see she's coming for us all [Chorus] Fly till the stars collide Till we live or die Faster than ever before Fly to forget your past To move on at last Fly on and forever more Faster than light [Verse 2] Still farther and beyond we race Into the outer reach of space Through systems I will never know And yet still we have nowhere to go [Pre-Chorus 2] As the planets shatter right before my eyes There's no turning back, she's already here Stare into infinity, and know that time is short for me I can't deny she's coming for us all [Chorus] Fly till the stars collide Till we live or die Faster than ever before Fly to forget your past To move on at last Fly on and forever more Faster than light [Bridge] Why do I not turn and fight And see if I somehow might set myself free? Why do I feel so alive As if suddenly I somehow find I'm where I should be? Finally, I feel I can face up to all that I've done and become something more, more [Chorus] Fly till the stars collide Till I live or die Faster than ever before Fly to forgive my past To move on at last Fly on and forever more Fly till the stars collide Till I live or die Faster than ever before Fly to forgive my past To move on at last Fly on and forever more Faster than light

I was totally into the message from the beginning. Everyone else floundered and died for various reasons along the path of life. Then Britney got to the end and had wealth and power and notoriety, but suddenly she was gone just like the rest. I like how some of them accept their fates, but Britney is genuinely surprised when she realizes she will also die, because all the prizes and fame distracted her, made her forget that death comes to all, even the successful. I love this video.
