🤣🤣🤣 That look of utter confusion is simply hilarious. Brit told us that the video was inspired by Rick & Morty. Basically dimensions are colliding and "Evil Britney" wants to take "Good Britney's" place since her band died. You can follow the different Britneys by following the rings she is wearing in the scenes.

If you want to hear Britney without any effects, there is a video where they are at a Karaoke bar after a concert in Scotland and she grabs the mic and sings "Queen of the Reich" by Queensryche

@Koality Reactions: Nice reaction to this video! Northwest Passage is a song many Canadians hold as their "second national anthem." To address the lyrics, when Stan Rogers originally wrote the song, it was meant as a shanty-style seafaring or campfire poem, like Barrett's Privateers or Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. And the lyrics do have some history behind them, as the "sea of flowers" refers to Canada's northern Great Plains. As for the video, believe it or not, there is a bit of sci-fi thrown in, as Brittney is a big sci-fi and fantasy nerd, so having a bit of the "Many World's theory" from science is part of the video. It's why you see the different versions of Brittney and the band members (Andrew Kingsley, Grant Truesdell, and Brittney's partner Scott Buchanan; Andy plays lead guitar, Grant plays rhythm guitar, and Scott plays drums). It's also why you see the headstone with UTA on it, with multiple birth to death dates, as it represents the times the band tried to make things work, and failed. Brittney's different versions don't necessarily represent different choices, but rather how her fears and insecurities play into the different paths the band could have taken. In some respects, it's having a bit of faith and trusting those around you to make things work, which is what a band's success is based on. At the end, Brittney kills her version that is so afraid that she has stage freight, which would mean the band would fail to be successful. So Brittney is basically killing her own fears and doubts, and not letting them get in the way of the band existing and playing shows. Which is exactly what early explorers had to deal with, as I can only imagine early explorers being afraid, but acting in spite of that fear with their courage.

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! NORTHWEST PASSAGE Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea Tracing one warm line through a land so wide and savage And make a Northwest Passage to the sea Westward from the Davis Strait 'tis there it was said to lie The sea route to the Orient for which so many died Seeking gold and glory, leaving weathered, broken bones And a long-forgotten lonely cairn of stones Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea Tracing one warm line through a land so wide and savage And make a Northwest Passage to the sea Three centuries thereafter, I take passage overland In the footsteps of brave Kelso, where his "sea of flowers" began Watching cities rise before me, then behind me sink again This tardiest explorer, driving hard across the plain Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea Tracing one warm line through a land so wide and savage And make a Northwest Passage to the sea And through the night, behind the wheel, the mileage clicking west I think upon Mackenzie, David Thompson and the rest Who cracked the mountain ramparts and did show a path for me To race the roaring Fraser to the sea Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea Tracing one warm line through a land so wide and savage And make a Northwest Passage to the sea How then am I so different from the first men through this way Like them I left a settled life, I threw it all away To seek a Northwest Passage at the call of many men To find there but the road back home again Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea Tracing one warm line through a land so wide and savage And make a Northwest Passage to the sea Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea Tracing one warm line through a land so wide and savage And make a Northwest Passage to the sea

For a visceral reaction you should listen to the original Stan Rogers recording (as far as I know there are no music videos, though it is here on the KZbin). The chorus is meant to be perfectly discordant with the single voice reciting the core lyrics of the ballad. This is one of the few covers that I have heard that is decent, possibly because they're not trying to mimic the original style. It is a difficult song to get right. Bonus factoid: Most Anglophone Canadians consider The Northwest Passage as a national folk anthem, and often know the words better than the official national anthem.

It is my understanding that, if one is Canadian and wishes to sing, Northwest Passage is one of the first 5 songs you must (by law) learn. OK, the "by law" thing may be an exaggeration, but it is widely taught to impressionable youth. Canadian singers, singing a Canadian classic song about a classic Canadian explorer/tragedy : the fate of Lord Franklin and his ship and crew as they sailed straight into the teeth of the artic.... got stuck in the ice, tried (and failed) to survive in the subzero whiteout hell as their 2 ships slowly drifted southward a bit. Death by freezing, starvation, pneumonia, tuberculosis and lead poisoning (food canning practices and the water distillation system on their ships)... typical 1845 British Explorer faire. Anyway, being a good Canadian band, UTA created their metal version of this tribute song. And did a fine job.

So, how about another Canadian Maritimer: Lennie Gallant -- he's done a couple of Christmas songs "The Innkeeper" and "The Gift (a Nurse Song)", which fits the season we're now in. As far as I know, no one has reacted to his music -- you could be first.
