I love that comparison between the roundabouts and the traffic lights. In a sense, trafic lights are very disrespectful to the people, as they waste a lot of our time having to sit at a red light when often there are no other cars around. We need more round abouts. Great comparison for production too 😊

Matt - you’re such a fantastic facilitator. Ryan - you’re a very special thinker. I’m super excited to learn more about the forthcoming book! Thank you for putting these together. “Healthy things flow!”

The business I work for is all bespoke products. Every product is different at every aspect from size to glazing to the finish. A lot of stoppages in all areas, I have been there 1 week and already identified massive room for improvements. Would love a tour of Seating Matters in the near future. Thanks for all the great podcasts Ryan and Matt, there really is life changing content on these. Simon Doane

Disruption is the 9th Waste - excellent observation, Ryan. Thank you. “FIX WHAT DISRUPTS FLOW” is going to be my new Lean mantra. I briefly considered INTERRUPTS, but your choice of DISRUPTS is more powerful, simultaneously conveying the impact that even seemingly minor issues have on flow, whilst also provoking a sense of urgency to resolve it NOW. I’m looking forward to your book.

There is just no other way than to have excess capacity. People are human, they will have absences from illness or family issues. As a small company, this hurts our flow. If you have a team that will pull together and try to makeup for the absent team member, that is the only other way to handle it.
