Great review , any string recommendations

Hello ; Considering the 7 rackets and string kg values I have tried and played with so far, Pure Strike 98 V3 gave the best result. However, a few adjustments need to be made. First the String Babolat RPM Rough Blast 125 should be set to 20kg and allowed to stretch a bit. Then a large dampener with 3 grams of lead tape at 6 o'clock and 3 grams of lead tape at 12 o'clock. You now have a rocket with a powerful explosion. Whether forhand, backhand, slice or serve, we are ready to offer you whatever you want... Feeling is everything.

Thorough review, thank you. I’m a huge fan of Gen3 and is my stick of choice. Planned to give trying Gen4 a miss… I may have to reconsider!🙂

If you love the pure strike, it won't hurt to give it a try

I think your level is fine for 18x20. You just have to lower the tension or use a thinner gauge string.

You can put on a leather grip on your bad copy 3.gen. and get rid of the vibrodampener in the strings.

What string tension do you recommend for this? I m trying to switch from the pro staff. Strung this at 52lbs and it's still too powerful. I had the pro staff at 50lbs 16 guage and can consistently hit the same spot. At 52lbs I could not recreate same with my forehand and backhand. Serve has been amazing tho. Currently at the stringers to try 55lbs. Not sure if I want to go higher.

For most people, 55lbs would be too high but if you used the Pro Staff, I'm asuming you're a pretty good player so you should be able to handle it. What string you use can also make a big difference. If you can't find the right tension, maybe consider trying a different string or a thicker gauge.

I believe there's a typo in your video. The specs for the stiffness and swingweight should be flipped around. Also, you probably should be specific in regards to the weight of the racquet (strung versus unstrung weight).

Given you have a Gen 2, would you pick up a Gen 2 or a Gen 4 for a match, and why?
@opencourt80810 ай бұрын
I think I would still stick with gen 2 because it's a little more responsive and firm which I like
@johnluu8310 ай бұрын
Does it play similarly to the prohect one 7?
@opencourt80810 ай бұрын
Yes it does. Just a bit softer

stiffness is 330? wow like a diamond....( I know its a typo, - dont explain)

Probably you've got an underspec PS98 (gen 4) with a low swingweight (and also maybe of a more headlight balance) 😆 Gen 4 and gen 3 of PS98 are supposed to have the same swingweight and headlight balance.

regarding the backhand.... you just need to be more agressive and swing faster.
@benjaminjensen1119 ай бұрын
Average Swingweight Project One7 '323' (2.gen)....Average Swingweight Pure Strike 3. gen '327'. Average Swingweight Pure Strike 4. gen 16 x 19 '330' So higher swingweight of them all is gen. 4 Maybe you got a bad copy/specimen of the 3.gen Pure Strike. Or you got stronger since you last used the Pure Strike 3.gen. I have four 3.gen Pure Strikes and they are all under 330 swingweight. The pure strike 16 x 19 is for agressive fast swing players and they dont like swingweight under 325-320
