i also encountered weird issues like these and usually updating the bios fixes it. i recommend to test everything on the desk and update the bios before full assembly :)

Warning ⚠️ some z790 motherboard's slow your gpu down from 16x to 8x if you use the top nvme slot

@@justd.2987 run GPUZ make sure it says (pci x16 4.0) for your gpu if it says 8x your running 2x8 not 1x16

@justd.2987 the reason is if you use the top slot for the nvme it will share lane's from your gpu and it will reduce from 16 down to 8. But don't worry too much because it doesn't tank performance it just slightly reduces it

I wonder if there some kind of Bios setting on the Gigabyte MB for pcie slots like x2 set by default instead of x4 or x8 or x16 or resizable bar turned off

Hey I ran into the same problem before with I think that exact board and it was the top NVME slot. It was using the same lanes or something as the x16 slot. Had to move it and it booted.

Had the same issue when updating to the latest bios on my MSI B650i. Apparently it didn't like the 4070/80 cards but would work when rolled back to original bios.

how much space between the PSU and the left most intake fan? Does that fan starve? If so, could you mount the psu fan up and leave its internal fan set off in hybrid to allow an air path for that left fan? I am kind of interested in this case (and the phanteks just like it) but that is one glaring thing to me I am curious about. Thanks, nice build btw :)

I've actually encountered this as well. for me personally it ended up being the PSU as I've had at least 4 motherboard connected to it fail and not turn on again.

Seems to me like z790 mobo's are nothing but issues. These should come out of box with latest bios fixing the issues

I got the same error and i had to run one ram and use the igpu to set the ram-speed manually in bios. Then it fired right up.

The Z790 Aorus Elite needs F7 bios to support 14th GEN CPU's. The Z790 Aorus Elite AX W needs bios F2/F3 to support 14th GEN. Are your boards updated?

Yes those motherboards are up to date, iv used them in previous builds with 14th gen cpus
