Hi Oyo. Did you receive your eligibility from the state? Have you registered for NPTE already? It does not take that long after you successfully registered for NPTE.

This came from FSBPT website: "Once you have completed registering for an examination you will receive an Authorization to Test letter (ATT) from FSBPT via email. The ATT letter is sent when the licensing authority to which you are applying, or their authorized designee, makes you eligible to sit for the exam. "

Also this "When will I receive my ATT letter? FSBPT will email you the Authorization to Test (ATT) letter the day after you are made eligible to sit for the examination. At the same time your ATT letter is emailed, you will be able to access it from your Customer Dashboard under “Status of My Request” in the “Services” section. If your status says “Awaiting Eligibility” it means FSBPT is waiting for the state where you applied for your license to approve you to sit for the exam. If you have submitted all of your information to the state required with your licensure application, you don’t need to take any further action. The day after the state approves you, you will receive your Authorization to Test (ATT) letter via email from FSBPT. If you are not sure if you have submitted all of your required information to your state you may contact them to see if there is anything they need in order to approve you to sit for the exam."

Hello Dr. Jing Thank you so much for your guidance. I am a US citizen and a foreign trained PT. I received an email from NYSED stating “ your education has been approved on 12/20/22 and your application has been forwarded to the PT unit.” It’s been three months, but I have not received eligibility letter from them. I want to take NPTE in April’23. Please help 🙏🏻

Hi. It depends on the state. In NY you don't need master's degree to take NPTE. But if you're not US citizen or immigrant then you'll need Healthcare worker certificate that requires masters degree. Hope that helps.

Hello. The minimum requirement now based on FSBPT is master's degree. A lot of applicants take master's degree related to PT or tdpt program (doctor of PT) before applying. This way it may cover the deficient subjects from just having a bachelor degree.

That is true especially if you will use FCCPT Type 1 review for immigration. FCCPT required 210 semester units. If you will use CGFNS for visa screen certificate, they only require 170 semester units. You can take exam in NJ. but you have to apply to New York board of PT to get eligibility you take the exam.
