I think CC grovels too much. And all that effort to make herself small hasn't bought an ounce of grace or humanity from these vets. Enough with all that. She doesn't need to go on the attack. But she doesn't need to bend over backwards to lick their boots. Why not: "I'm looking forward to the matchup. I've wanted to play against the best since I was a young girl. It should be a great game and I hope fans are watching!”

Clark knows a ton about the game and she gives perfect answers because she speaks from her knowledge and from her heart. And I agree, she will not give up this dream regardless of how much these WNBA vets are trying to dismiss her and freeze her out. Caitlin is not weak - she has had more on her shoulders than any of these vets ever have - they played when no one was really watching. Caitlin plays with more pressure than any player ever has. the one thing that can be said about Caitlin vs Taurasi is that Caitlin has couth. Diana wasn't in line when they handed that out.
@TruthMatters224 ай бұрын
Caitlin smart to praise Taurasi before squaring off - no advantage to playing Taurasi’s game of dismissing her as a little girl playing against grown ass women. Taurasi is 42 and way past her prime. Assume her teammates do most of the work and Taurasi just puts up open threes. Caitlin is on a really bad team with little to no shooters other than her. So Taurasi likely will have wide open looks while Caitlin will get shitty or fake screens and all contested shots. And it will be clear that Taurasi’s team does not think Caitlin is in over her head because like every other team, they will double her, blitz her and deny her the ball unlike any other player in the league. Why? Because they know she can off at any time and single handededly make a 9-12 point run. If these vets and coaches believed what they said, the would guard her like every other star player in the league. I dare them to not play Caitlin rules defense on her (and just play Kelsey Plum or Taurasi rules defense) and let’s see what happens.

Having paved the way for so many good players like Clark & then you have all these fans disrespecting you telling you how you need to thank Clark for charter flights & increase in viewership. Like wtf. I mean yes Clark has brought eyes to the league but let’s not sit here & just disregard or act like Tarsusi didn’t literally WALK so Clark could RUN! & I truly feel like Diana doesn’t have any ill will towards Clark, I feel like it’s more so towards the fans who are doing it but since she can’t just explode on the fans she has like a irritated attitude whenever Clark is brought up.

No, it's the truth, whether anyone wants to acknowledge it or not. This Taurasi broad had twenty years to make people give one crap about women's basketball and she failed. If she can't say anything nice, she really shouldn't say anything at all

There wasn’t anything wrong with DT response. The media did it to themselves with all of the messy stuff that they have been doing. And the vets being stand off ish is some of her fault to. She passively stood by and let her fans disrespect the vets in her name. In damn near every interview Angel was always giving the vets love and letting them know how much she appreciates them for kicking down the door. That’s the difference

We are like 18 games within the season and I never heard CC talked about the vets that’s playing right now. This feels forced like a PR stunt.

Clearly you have not been following Clark very long or paying attention to what she says. Any time anyone has ever asked her about the WNBA she has payed a lot of respect to the current veterans and former players that came before her. Talked about her idols and favorite players. PR stunt? Clark? That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Diane Taurasi respects Caitlin Clark. She simply told the truth about the difficulty of transitioning to the WNBA.

It's not just the players on other teams not respecting Caitlin Clark. HER OWN TEAM is publicly snubbing her. Look at the Indiana Fever's home page online. Not a single article about Caitlin on it. Instead, there are big articles on Smith and Mitchell with photos. From the looks of the Fever home page, the most popular player on the team does not exist. Honestly, those of us who have started paying attention to this league because of CC are so turned off by stuff like this. And this disrespects US as well, as it seems to suggest that we are just brain dead simps who will turn our attention to whatever player the league chooses rather than continue to be Caitlin Clark fans. Many of us only discovered the WNBA because we liked the exciting games we saw CC play with Iowa and followed along to Indiana---but we are not even seeing that kind of exciting basketball being ATTEMPTED by Indiana. It is not clear WHAT they are attempting to play...
