You speak well and give good analysis. You know the game. You speak clearly which is a very important thing in this space. Definitely earned a sub brother

As an Arc Warlock main, watching our Arc Soul being stolen and given to Solar after six months of enforced Solar is nauseating. I think there will be a considerable amount of negative unintended consequences of stealing class identity via Prismatic. One imagines that the exotic class items that drop will dictate build direction far more than planned mix & match ability options. As such, there will be a dire need for genuine randomness rather than 70% of the time, one of a small subset dropping depending on class.

Yeah, Hellion seems a lot like the Getaway Artist variant of the Arc Soul - and Arc Warlocks being neglected and homogenised into the Prismatic mix doesn't really seem healthy for its long-term class identity. I think it's a unique point that can mainly be summed up by using Arc Warlock as an example, but it's definitely a legitimate concern. I think we'll just have to see how everything's implemented and how hopefully some of the lesser played classes can get some love.

Im personally hoping for a HOIL + Star Eater's class item roll. I came to a very similar conclusion you did save for one fragment, and i think those two exotics would really help push the build towards being well rounded and viable. I think its funny that no one is really interested in what the devs showed being possible in their video. It says a lot about the disconnect between warlock players and whoever is designing for warlock. Hopefully someone higher up will notice and maybe get someone from the titan team to take a look.

HOIL and Star Eater's would 100% make for a crazy combination when paired with ability builds for sure. I think the whole Warlock "power fantasy" intention from Bungie really doesn't line up with what the community wants, and Prismatic has kinda ended up looking a little bland for Warlocks as a result - the same kinda goes for Hunters as well but we've seen a lot of improvements for them over the last few years.

Let’s be honest, the prismatic PvP warlock has all in one build osmeomancy double cold snap with triple lightning surge and pheonix dive to summon three threadlings or solar soul depending on choice
@CasualGamerYT
@CasualGamerYT 5 ай бұрын
Prismatic PvP Warlock has almost every oppressive tool in the game, osmeo coldsnaps and triple lightning surge definitely is the first thing that comes to mind - it covers so many options and has so much raw strength, but it loses most of what actually meshes those playstyles together (frostpulse + iceflare is the main one). I think Prismatic sounds entirely busted for PvP but it could end up being spread too thin to be broken.

@@CasualGamerYT I was hoping for frost pulse so bad just to pheonix dive and freeze people over and over, I think you are mostly right but some things like triple consecration don’t need anything else, one is enough to wipe a well and now you can wipe three or just run around one shotting people and sometimes getting an extra kill without realising
@CasualGamerYT
@CasualGamerYT 5 ай бұрын
There are a lot of really crazy combinations coming straight into Prismatic, I don't even think the triple consecration is the worst of it on Titan for PvP. Thruster + Drengr's Lash is basically just ensnaring slam from Hunter, combine that with Knockout for amplified, not to mention being able to run Shiver Strike and Diamond Lance.

Precious scars is on the glass item and getting restoration potentially on all super types is solid

For sure, there's a few pretty crazy combos and I'm gonna recommend precious scars for harder content where you need a survivability boost.

I think my problem with prismatic warlock is how unbelievably bland it is. Even this build is just bland. Nothing truly interesting or flashy happening. Just a regular day at the office. Titans have crazy synergies with ability and aspects that have multiple ways of working with one another, hunters have times of ways of staying stupid mobile while slaying out, but idk. Warlock just lacks any real theme are core action that it’s driving for like the other two. It’s just boring. There were ways they could’ve made it good, like a glass cannon but they chose all of the abilities than will just end up slowing it down. Personally, they should’ve chosen frost pulse over bleak watcher for the potential synergy with dive. They should’ve chose Nova Warp over slowva, given that slowva is really just a much worse version of needlestorm in literally every aspect. They should’ve chosen heat rises instead of hellion, and really should chosen a different grenade. Not having a solar damage grenade is ridiculous. The only really good thing coming out of this is devour. All of the supers are garbage other than needlestorm (and potentially song of flame, but even that pisses me off because everything is always just a reskin for warlocks), and none of the abilities even really mesh given devour is always going to be a pick. It seems like they were trying a couple things and eventually just gave up and threw random stuff in. It really could’ve been something truly great but as usual it’s seems like it’s just gonna be one or two halfway mediocre builds that have literally no soul to them and make you wanna gouge your eyes out with the terrible pacing. No REAL mixing and matching or playing around with different combos, because most won’t make any sense whatsoever. I’m imagining this as what it could’ve been: Blinking into the fray above a group of enemies and diving down for a frostpulse. Hit them with an arc melee to chain lightning while breaking the ice and activate devour. Throw your grenade of choice (vortex personally, or even iceflare if you’re gonna rock osmiomancy’s), and cast nova warp. Blink through and de estate crowds of frozen enemies, all the while being kept safe by devour. Or Activate heat rises. Float up into the air and cast limitless arcane needles from the back lines, even spread poison if you want. Throw down storm grenades made plenty by devour and watch storms and plagues overtake the enemies. Throw a needlestorm to send the pests at them and now you’re basically just the apocalypse. Two VERY diverse ways to play while keeping that glass cannon theme in mind, with even still many more options including triple storm slide melees, vortex grenade + Penumbral blast combos, hell even frost pulse plus weavers call to dive in, freeze them, and immediately blow them up with Threadlings. Way more interesting and fun. Instead we get this half-baked mess of stuff that really doesn’t have any connection. I personally don’t give a damn about a bleakwatcher given all it serves to do is slow down gameplay when I can loop any other grenade with devour and outright kill things anyways. It’s goofy. Also, they should’ve picked chaos reach over Stormtrance 100%

Also, nothing against you. This is a very well-rounded build and looks like it’ll be super effective. It just looks like prismatic warlock in general will lack anything resembling the oomf that the other classes seem to have, but who knows? Maybe it’ll be banger

I think well getting ditched for prismatic was an incredibly good idea from bungie, especially considering theres a nerf coming which i hope shakes up the way we think of loadouts in endgame content. I dont agree with well or bubble being needed in endgame content, rn people only run it because its the most optimal all around super but most if not all content is not that much more difficult without well. The problem is if they gutted well with the nerfs, warlocks are gonna be in a very diffucult place because rn their best damage super is like 200k less than any eaters hunter or pyrogale titan.

Warlocks are in a tough spot balance-wise, they're actively encouraged to run Well in 90% of content because they lack other meaningful tools. Prismatic, specifically for Warlock seems to be geared towards low-mid level content, with more room for creativity but overall less room for min-maxxing - I guess we'll just have to see some of the stats before making any real judgments.
@Morossss
@Morossss 5 ай бұрын
@@CasualGamerYT Warlocks without well are still pretty useful, there are so many builds that could help in high end content but nobody runs it because its automatically better to run well. With onslaught especially we saw how alot of off-meta builds were better than we thought at high power deltas, i think prismatic warlock seems to be as geared towards endgame content as anyother subclass if not more so, feed the void+bleak watchers, cold snap, transcendence nade.

Onslaught and "Meta" fatigue definitely helped solidify some off-meta builds and, to your point, I don't think I've personally used well this season outside of Master Crota runs.

Prismatic seems to be a coward alternative to getting rid of subclasses and letting everything open. Besides being another lazy recycling of preexisting stuff, instead of something actually new. It'll probably be fun for a week or two, for build crafting, than everyone will realize it's pretty much the same gameplay from 10 years ago.
@CasualGamerYT
@CasualGamerYT 5 ай бұрын
I think Prismatic won't replace regular subclasses, but act as an alternative with even more allowed creativity than Subclass 3.0s. I'd agree that it's not as good as taking the leap towards removing subclasses entirely, but it's definitely a good start and hopefully Bungie will see how popular it is and consider taking it further in the future.
