Not only has this been patched out but it's been nuked from orbit. Let's say you synthesize premium ammo in the station and make a jump to your favorite CZ or Haz Rez, if your fuel scoop even picks up a litttle fuel you lose ALL your premium ammo!! Not even a fucking shot fired, this is a prime example of fixing something by breaking it more

Yeah I'm working on a Imperial Eagle. Engineered to Max speed but with A rated and engineered FSD for long range ( but I think about changing it to faster load ) and plasma accelerators engineered for Short Range . I like it , it's fast and powerful

I use this since 2.1 after release. That is pretty much the only way to use plasma slug effect. It is same with railguns. What i think is FD have to rethink the main idea of Plasma Slug to make it usefull without any synthes stuff (don't reduce damage) And fully lock the ability to have synthes on plasma slug. But.. that is a FD.. What else whould you expect.. This thing exist for 1.5 year now. It is not a bug, or exploit or whatever. It is just a good way to see how badly FD designed 2.1 update.

Juhni Blazn' not true. A magazine surrounds the rounds inside, a clip holds the rounds by their base. Clips are usually removed after inserting into the firearm. I know I worded the magazine definition oddly, I just don’t want to look up the technical definition. My AR uses magazines, my SKS uses clips which are inserted into a box magazine

Ships, tanks, anything that hold ammunition in a vehicle of some kind is called a magazine. Again, like stated before, a magazine holds rounds inside. Clips, clip to the round. Kinda like it sounds

i just tried on my dbs with medium rails. seems like it works well with the refuel (obviously, i can't reload the rails), but the effect later went away, apparently because of fuel scooping. if it's really that, it sucks for people who like to casually fly long distances...

@@oralord5659 i still didn't check it enough, but the criteria isn't fuel scooping. it seems to reset to normal ammo when you empty the small bar of fuel above your general bar of fuel (the one that you can see lowering at each shot).

That's a cool thing to know, was wondering why a lot of PVE build were using that mod, but couldn't you also go in and use the advanced rearm tab and just choose to reload each weapon other than the plasma cannons so you wouldn't have to micro manage your magazine on the way in?

Gotta say... it sounds nice... but the reduction in damage is significant. Makes sense in situations where you need long term loiter capability.... but 20% redox on plasma's or rails seem to be a huge trade off IMHO... Can't really say this is an exploit considering that you still take a huge redox to damage when using this. Sure... you can have infinite ammo... but with the fire rates of these weapons... is that really a thing? On a class 1 rail gun for example, this damage redox could drop your DPS from ~37.2 DPS normally to 29DPS with the reduction. This would bring the overall DPS down to Multi cannon levels [which is still pretty good, mind you]. I've been running rails in my Class 1 hard points on my Anaconda. I tried Plasma slug first, figuring unlimited ammo would be the best choice.. I quickly re-fitted for long range super-penetrators instead. More bang for your buck in my opinion. I use them for long range snipes... and as weapons of opportunity during close to medium combat, and I've found them waaaay more valuable than infinite ammo. I can see some situations where infinite ammo would be nice... but those are specific [like weaps for long range travel, etc]. but overall... it's uses do not outweigh the losses you accrue by using them.

Guess I need to slap the plasma slug Rails I have back on my rig and give it another test. I have a lot of premium ammo mats, so I've gone with the long range plasma slugs... which seem to do a lot more damage to a number of modules. I haven't empirically tested it, but it seems the 30% damage buff affects the damage done to all the modules affected by super penetrator mod with rails... which yields very good results in combat IMHO. AS I said... I can see the benefits of infinite premium ammo... But then there are quite a few benefits to premium bonus damage with super penetrators as well. I have a set of both... so I'll test them out and compare. Thanks!

Sky Starr Regardless of your perspective and personal opinion on the matter, the fact remains that it is something available to players purely via the game's own mechanics. It is up to the developers to patch up or ignore. Whether or not it is an unfair advantage remains irrelevant. The fact remains that it is a useful advantage to be considered and no player is going out of their way to hack the game, client or server side, to archive it. Don't go blaming players for the developers oversights.

Honestly I hope that frontier will ban cheaters doing this. Along with those who use the engineered weapon exploits... I’m so sick and tired of taking my combat engineered and expensive combat ship out. Only to get ganked by engineer wep exploiters who can nuke and melt all your modules with the cheated heat weapons in 5 seconds... “but it is in the game so why is it cheating?” Because it was not meant to be that way to begin with... it is a horrible exploit of bad programming of the game... and though frontier said they would ban people from doing this, I guess they are too incompetent to fix their shit. Cause this crap has been going on for 6 months now... and unlimited premium ammo is an exploit too... what if people one day find the God mode exploit. No loosing health anymore. Will people also just say “perfectly legit, definitely not ruining the game at all” fuckin cheat wankers... spit!

Andrei I wish it worked like that..but it doesn't. In some cases it took months for devs to fix these exploits. Look around and you will see hundreds of noobs flying in Cutters, Vettes, Condas etc..Thanks to Down to Earth right here. We also have other "broken" weapons that aren't fixed yet even though Frontier has known about it for months...This is all affecting the BGS and in this example: PvP and PvE

If engineers can "tweek" things is it not fare the player can as well as in real life? only thing that i scratch my head with is that plasma accelerators require ammo i always presumed the plasma was created from the energy stored in your weapon banks. Never really used them .
