EDITED TO ADD: Visible recently changed their pay plans to include two plans. Neither plan accepts the party pay discount. So new accounts cannot take advantage of the discount. That is interesting. I just use my phone's hotspot with a mango router for my home computer. I just use the phone data on the go. Visible is the best in my area (north central florida). The mango router helps get around the device limit by repeating the wifi.

hi! great video.. when you initially have to put in the sim card into the mifi is it the same one you use for the phone? do you put it into the mifi then put it back into the phone once jetpack is activated? or do you have 2 separate visible lines ie two different sim cards? thx!

Great Video! I decided a couple of months ago to switch over to Visible. I'm still shopping for a new Visible compatible phone 1st. One thing I would like to add. With Visible, you get unlimited Hotspot tethering along with unlimited everything else. Meaning you can turn your phone to a WiFi hotspot, instead of having the additional MiFi box. You can connect your laptop, tablet or whatever to you phone and it just shares the unlimited data from your Visible phone. You could be streaming a movie on your tablet and download or uploading on your computer while browsing or doing whatever on your phone all at the same time. If I understood correctly from your video. It sounds like you are paying for a Verizon cell service and now the Visible plan on top of that? Visible is a Verizon company so as long as your Verizon phone is unlocked. You can just pop your Visible SIM in there and dump the more expensive Verizon contract altogether. Unless you are trying to do some intensive online gaming or trying to stream everything at 4k. You probably wouldn't know much of a difference in speed from Verizon to Visible. It's the same exact network. Though they do prioritize Verizon customers in high data demand times. You might notice a little slower speeds on Visible but it will still be totally usable and probably rarely noticeable. I'm an Android guy and I don't and don't want to know anything about iPhone, lol. In Android, in settings, under WiFi, you should see some about tethering or mobile hotspot. Then from there, you can connect your other devices. This should also work with your current Verizon plan but your Verizon plan unlike Visible probably has a tethering hotspot data limit. For example, I currently have an unlimited Straight Talk plan but it only gives me 15gb of hotspot data. It's also $20 more than Visible. So I am definitely looking forward to the unlimited hotspot and cash savings, lol. Visible has some sort of family plan type thing. Do you have your code for that? I'll use your code when I switch over. It will save us both some cash.

I actually have both my phone and mifi with Visible. Outside of wanting to monitor the temp of the car while I'm away from it, I could probably get away with using the hotspot from my phone. One issue that others may have is that Visible limits hotspot connection to just one device at a time. Not an issue for me, but may be for others. The "party plan" discount can be done within the app once you've signed up for their service and it brings the monthly total down to $25. You don't need a code or anything. Groups are large 10,000s. You can use my referral code 3LJWWRR to get $20 off your first month (and will give me $20 off my next month). So by using my code plus joining a party plan, you'll only pay $5 for the first month then $25 a month after. You'll then have your own code to share as well. One more thing, Visible uses esim cards now if you prefer not to wait for a physical one to arrive in the mail. Wouldn't work in the hotspot in my video, but that's what I did for my phone and the process was easy. Been recommending Visible to everyone who will listen to me lol

There is no jetpack account needed. You just use the user id and password that will display on the unit itself (it’s not really an account as much as it is a way to just adjust settings online). I never had a hotspot account with Verizon and I just picked up the jetpack on eBay. I’ve read the 8800 should work with visible as well. Hope this helps!

I never switched to the new visible network with the jetpack, though I did with my phone and it did not require a new SIM. Just don't choose their option for virtual SIM card or that definitely won't work with the jetpack. Hope this helps!

I actually switched to the faster plan for my phone and have not been pleased. It has been extremely glitchy. Sometimes I can’t send or receive texts. Sometimes it’s phone calls. They had me switch to an Esim card (which won’t work with the jetpack), but have had to redownload it 5-6 times now. I can no longer recommend them, and am thinking of moving away from them altogether. Also, if you upgrade to their faster plan, you lose the discount. Which is something they don’t disclose until after you’ve upgraded.

I haven’t used it for cameras or smart locks but I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work. I didn’t have any problems with freezing while streaming with the device.

@@bebelives I've found that parking in the shade is huge! I also started putting up my weathertech shades on hot days (where as before I used them only for privacy while sleeping). If it's a REALLY hot day and/or I can't find shade, and I need the car to stay cool, I'll leave the car in ready mode, and set the AC to auto. Like using climate control overnight, it uses surprisingly little gas, with the engine only turning periodically. Also, have a fridge to keep things in as well as a soft cooler that provides slight protection from the heat for things I don't want to get ruined in a hot car (vitamins, supplements, etc). Hope this helps!

Im going to park in covered parking for now on ...I parked in the hot FL sun for a month last year and I could tell my Prius didn't much care for that.

@@bebelives Oh I see. For that, I would think shade, window covers and/or a car cover would be your best options. If you’re able to have someone drive your car every week or so, as it’s not good for them to sit for periods of time.

Yes, that is correct. Or at least it was at the time I made this video. I think it had a limit of 10-20 devices. I am no longer using it so I’m not sure if visible has gotten stricter with its use.

I don’t believe it works with that model. You could always try to put the SIM card in and follow the steps in my video to try. It won’t mess up the sim or anything. Let us know if you end up trying it!

I’m really not sure. I switched to Mint for my cell phone service and ditched the mifi unit altogether. As far as I know, Mint mobile can’t be used with this unit.

@@YesitisDex that certainly works! The reason for this using the mifi is to connect multiple devices. Using the hotspot from the phone limits to just one connected device. I actually got really frustrated with them for disconnecting my cell phone service randomly due to “upgrades”, sometimes for days at a time. I now consider them my enemy lol. I’m with Mint Mobile now.

That doesn’t surprise me. I was happy with them when I made the video. But was disgusted by their customer service. They also kept disconnecting my service to my cell phone once I upgraded. I ended up switching to Mint Mobile, but no longer use a mifi unit at all.

My 7730 jetpack needed the APN changed when I upgraded with Visible. It was vsblinternet before the upgrade and now vzwinternet with the new upgrade sim. Still going strong for $25.

Yes, but they throttle the connection and if it's not on the compatibility list it won't allow any device you put the sim to connect to 5g

@@anything670 you can only connect one device to the hotspot with visible if you’re using a phone. This jetpack allows you to connect multiple devices. However I haven’t used it in a couple months now so not sure if visible has gotten stricter with customers using these jetpacks.

It is prepaid. As I understand it, changing the APN is the way you “unlock” it to use on Visible. I’m not sure if it can be used with other carriers with similar changes to the APN.
