I have the older model from about 6-7 years ago. I added a powered winch and wireless remote with dedicated battery so I can go back and forth from the ATV and the Tractor without having to deal with any wiring to them. I have moved hundreds of ton of soil, gravel, rock, wood and whatever I can fit in it. I dropped 500lb boulders in it with my tractor and all it does is leave a little dent here and there. It is pretty indestructible except one time I overloaded it with too much gravel and bent one of the axles. Woodland Mills sent me a new one no charge, love this company.

I purchased one of those quite some time ago and love it. I use it to haul lumber, dirt gravel, you name it. One problem I have had is the wheel bearings. I had one lock up a few weeks after I got it. I purchased one and Woodland mills sent me one after I reported it to them, so I had an extra bearing. It's a good thing because I had another one go out some months later. When I removed the wheels from the axel shaft, I found that they weren't packed well with grease. All the grease was between the bearings and not on the bearings themselves. If I were to do it again, I'd pop the covers off the hubs and check to see how much grease is on them. The grease fittings are in the middle and there is a huge cavity between the bearings. You have to put a lot of grease in there before it gets to the bearing.
@johnaddis10225 ай бұрын
If it has grease fittings in the middle of the hub pop the caps off the hubs pump grease in until it comes out. if you don't take the caps it will/can blow the seals out.

I bought one of these in 2014 and it's still going strong. Mine also converts into a log bunk by removing the box, easy conversion. I see they have (WM) gone to a synthetic rope for the crank, good idea. The steel cable on mine was the first thing to go. I tell you I have abused my trailer and it still in one piece. Mine has more of a crane action which stretches over half the length of the box. It also has stabilizers for craning of the sides of the box. Great for picking up and loading heavy objects like generators I don't remember there being so many parts to assemble though.

I got the smaller pathfinder trailer after I got fed up with the cheesy lawn carts tongues folding up hauling firewood. I love it! Only issue I have is it can get real heavy real quick for my small four wheeler (Yamaha big bear 400). I figured I’d use a smaller more with my mower and wheeler than a big one with the tractor

I have wanted a trailer like that for a while now!! I would change the winch to a 12volt ATV winch with remote though so It would be easier to spread chips/sand/gravel dirt while moving. Just slowly raise as needed while driving down the trail. Definitely love these trailers and the ones like it where the box comes out and it turns into an atv log trailer. Someday...

COOL, Sandy! I see at least a thousand uses for that on the farm, and you could easily tow it with a side-by-side. Get an inexpensive DC electric winch from Harbor Freight or someone similar, put a cigarette lighter female plug in the tractor and a male plug on the winch power cable. It only needs to power one direction, the weight of the trailer bed will lower it. The rear tailgate is top hinged so you could use it to dump sand, gravel, or whatever while driving. i.e. spread salt on ice in winter, spread wood chips along a road in summer.... Nice new toy! BTW, is the floor of your shop dirt? I thought it was concrete.

Just thought here Sandy. I wonder if you could use the wench on the Wallenstien to raise the bed of the trailer. However, it looks like the trailer wench has a pretty efficient ratio raising the dump body.
@sawingwithsandy5 ай бұрын
That’s a great idea Jack. My only issue would be I’m unable to let the trailer back down slowly since my winch is either freespooling, locked or pulling
@paulwubbolts27335 ай бұрын
I immediately thought of the same thing. I find The winch on the wallenstein is fairly easy to control. You can let slip clutch a bit to ease the dump wagon down. In theory this way you could dump righ from the cab. I use the wallenstein to load logs onto my sawmill. It works really good
@wallacefrey62475 ай бұрын
You should try your cordless drill or impact with a socket on it,and see if that would crank the winch up to dump. ( It looks easy enough to crank as is,but if you ever break your wrist.....)

I’ll have to try that. Good idea

Sorry for the late Comment. I wonder how those compere to ULTRA-TEK Trailers sold down here. Built pretty much the same. I have one of those big Green Poly Trailers for the ATV. I converted it hydraulic lift since My ATV has a Hydraulic Pump on it. It will stand the dump box on end totally 90 Degrees. AHAHAHHA. and it has a Trailer hitch on the back to pull a second Trailer or the Wood Splitter.

I have had one of these for about 8 months. The one thing I am going to do is pin the hitch so it don't spin. It has its place but when you want to grab and go with the 3 point it never works out. Other than that I love it.

Seems like a lot of time is spent on dumping. Maybe leave the boom up so you don’t have to mess with the winch so much? Hinge the gate maybe too? Seems like a lot of space was used up in fender wells too. Can the sides be extended to hold more? For what you can load with the tractor it seems really small. 😏 Just thinking out loud. 😊
