Also you don't have to be on a dragon to collect the glyph, On my Dracthyr for the really high ones I would use my vigor from my dragon, land on the side of the mountain or ledge of a building and then use Soar to collect the glyph.

I did it in beta multiple times, with the fully upgraded skills you will pass up people that don't do it and just follow the story and grab them as they go, once your fully upgraded and get used to the skills recharging you as you fly you will zip around to quest much faster than anyone without the upgrades.

I just finished all the glyphs using them coordinates, made it so easy. Waiting for the damn stamina to charge while I was trying to climb them big mountains was hell though.

Took my wife and I about 2.5 hours to collect them all. Main reason was that she isn't comfortable doing the dragon flying by herself, so I did it all. Also Pro Tip: if you have someone 'riding you' , you want to make sure their dragon whelp hits the icon otherwise you may have to try again a 2nd or 3rd time. Took us a few tries to figure out that "sweet spot" to make sure we both gone them in one go. Other than that, fantastic freaking video. Helped both of us as we wanted to get this knocked out as soon as possible to try and have a slight traversal advantage: plus unlocking all the Flight Paths on the way (that we could) was a HUGE bonus!!!!!

When can you start riding along with someone as a whelp? How do you do that?

@@tracyhinote1270 As soon as you unlock dragon riding, talking to the Dragon Riding Trainer a little to the right (they are standing in the archway of a tower). There's going to be a question along the lines of "I heard I can help my party" or something like that, picking this option will let a party member come along for the ride. This is also the same trainer that teaches you about the talent point "glyph" system as well. Hope that helps.

Stopped playing WoW for a very long time. Haven't played since the beginning of Mists of Pandaria. My Cousin and friends got me back into it. Started flying for the first time and didn't know the game had changed so very much. My first time flying with the new Flight mechanics was a Joke lol. Yeah, dropping to the ground in the time it takes to swallow a cup of coffee is one of the weakest and most infuriating elements of dragon riding. Also, glyphs are not always high up; many times they are "hidden" among cliffs or structures as well. Nor do you need to be dragon riding at the time to collect one, at least if you have the "Other Flight Styles" button. Often when I'm working up close I prefer traditional riding, usually reserving dragon riding for long-range flying (kind of like "electric for town, gas for the road" in today's cars)

Pro tip: If you have Handy Notes and Handy Notes: Dragonflight installed, you can add in all the glyph coordinates in Tom Tom for a zone by right-clicking on one of the Handy Notes icons and choosing Add Group option from the list.

I'd like to point out that it isn't really optional to get the last Glyph at the top of the mountain without getting all the others first. Without 6 vigor, you simply can't get enough speed, to climb it, and there are very few places to rest. It takes about 6 vigor to get to the middle of the mountain, and then 6 more vigor chained in a row to reach the peak.

@@mreyespy13 I was actually wrong. The alternative is having the Thrill of the Skies buff maxed instead of the 6th vigor, so you can chain vigor. It takes 10 vigor to reach the top; you can stop halfway and do 4-6 + 4-6, or you can go all the way from the bottom maintaining the Thrill buff. I've been learning more about riding with practice, and I recently flew all the way from the starting area in the Waking Shores to the peak of that mountain without ever stopping, just chaining vigor and occasionally going down to regain momentum.

If you plan to rush your main to 70 before touching alts, I'd say gather them while you pass by them while leveling instead of spending 2-3h to get them before anything else. If you plan on alt-hopping to burn rest XP on alts along the way, then getting at least enough glyphs to remove most constraints before alt-hopping makes sense. I'll probably do the 70 rush and pick up whatever glyphs I missed when doing dailies, leveling alts or farming mats.

I just tested this on beta a couple hours ago, as soon as you get the quest for the first dragon glyph (part of the campaign) you can fly around the first zone and get all 13 in that zone, go back to the trainer and learn the first 5 skills to make things a little easier. It gives 1 more vigor and faster vigor recharge. From there I flew through the other 3 zones back to back and grabbed every other glyph. There is only one that is kinda tricky (it's a little south of the raid) and that one required me to land on the side of the mountain and recharge my vigor before flying up to the glyph. After you have all 35 glyphs (this took about 30 minutes to an hour) you can max out the entire dragonriding skill tree and it makes questing MUCH faster and easier. I ended with the one in the new main city so I could set my hearth there and also grab the flight path, but with a max dragon you can fly to the city from the first zone in about 30 seconds. There is a HandyNotes add on available now that shows the glyphs on your map. I can confirm that the add on currently shows the glyphs on the map live on retail servers right now. And if you are an evoker getting all of the glyphs and fully exploring the continent will lower your cooldown of Soar to 1 minute.
