I prefer the VF1 over the VF2. I felt like the VF1 gave me better spring and durability. I also had a faster 5k time compared to the VF2 (19:48 to 20:50) on the same course. I am excited to get my hands on the VF3’s when they come out in America. Great content Fordy.

Yes, Adios Pro 3 is faster than Next v3 and enough comfy to go faster and faster on long distances.

@@isidrotormogarcia4879 Interesting you find it faster - I've got to 100 miles so quickly in the Pro 3 - Find them great for medium and long runs and at regular paces, then another level of class when picking the pace up! Starting to think I could have skipped the VF3 😄

@@peteraclarke for my quicker paces (3'05/3'10) next v2 or Pro 3 are stiffer and with better energy return than next v3. I like the level of comfort on Next v3 but the upper is less secure and less supportive in every version.

Great review! So relieved Nike didn't screw up a good thing. We're all too familiar with brands forever hunting to update SOMETHING/ANYTHING! I'll be stocking up on these VF3's when they go on discount, like I did with VF2. BTW, just listened to your podcast appearance on 'Believe in the Run'. Yeah, I'm really behind. Such a fun episode! Just seemed to fly past even though this was one of their longest shows. Seemed like you guys could have chit-chatted all day if time permitted.

I save mine for race day too. I have 2 pairs of v2 and a pair of v1 alphaflys so gonna be a while before I get these ones. Looks a cracking shoe though. 🙌

Very unsure if I like it that much after my first run. It's softer and less aggressive than v2. Smooth ride for sure but doesn't throw you forward like the v1/2. Agree on the upper being really good. Very concerned about the outsole durability though, the nubs in the toe-off are are already showing some wear.

Agree about the invincible I sent the 3 back caused me issues. First run in the Vaporfly 3 today for 14 miles. Thought they were great didn’t go hard sat around 7.20 per mile. Upper is so much better too. Vaporfly 1 are still excellent, 2 were shite I think it was the upper they just weren’t great.. I think Nike have got it spot on with these. Faster than the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 but I’d say they were the closest thing to it

That’s good to hear as feel exactly the same about 1’s being class but couldn’t get on with the upper on the twos. Have the 3’s coming if courier sort themselves out! 😂

@@vika0194 I can see how some people would enjoy or prefer the V2 but that was certainly not my experience! V1’s are my favourite shoe of all time. I couldn’t have worn the V2 for a single run due to how uncomfortable that upper was. Felt like a cheese grater. 😂

I might be in the minority but I much preferred the Next% v1 to the v2 - I know that everyone says that there was no difference in the midsole but I really felt as though the v1 was more responsive and had better cushioning than v2. From what you've said, the v3 seem as though they've got a nicer upper and might be a little more cushioned than the v2 so I'm going to give them a go and might also use them as my marathon shoe.

Fordy - you have similar pronation issues to me. I couldn’t deal with v2, it absolutely killed my calves … even though it got me my one and only sub 20 min 5k, I ended up selling it as it was causing injuries. Did you not have any pronation issues in v2 or v3?

I agree with you I was so worried they would mess it up like they have with the invincible 3 I know you didn’t like the 1 or 2 but I loved theses and the invincible 3 was absolutely diabolical so I sent them back Iv only dune a slow 14 mile run on tired legs in the The Vaporfly 3 so far so not a great way to judge them But yeah it was great I couldn’t say 100% it’s better then the vaporfly 2 but it’s definitely not worse Walking around in the vapourfly 3 feels softer and bouncer So I can’t wait to try them at faster paces I think there probably better then the 2 but it’s small margins but we will see

@@poiu-om8xc invincible 3 are terrible although I love the invincible 1 and 2 The vaporfly 3 is good although to early to say there better then the Vaporfly 2 although first impressions are that there slightly better but the difference is marginal but like I say that’s just my first impression need to do a few more runs

The invincible V3 upper felt just so weird..V1&2 were so much better.. decided to get a tempo next % in exchange for the invincible run V2 which caught a outsole tear within 2 months of purchase 😁

I did the same with Alphafly. I'm pretty sure I'm not a runner who will notice the improvement of the version 2 on the road. It will not make my running any better. But my wallet can surely notice the price difference.

@MoonLights I have 2 x Alphafly 1, and of course they make a huge difference compared to regular EVA shoes. But once in the realm of super shoes the differences between them are pretty small for the average runner and it's more of the personal preference. I have Saucony Pro 3, but I more prefer it as a training shoe. For my PB I would rather go with Adidas Pro 3, any distance. And maybe even with Prime X, but still not totally sure about this one because of potential stability issues when tired.

@MoonLights Absolutely share your observations. These all new shoes are insane compared to old ones. The Adiós Pro 3 work great for me, but as you know, it's a personal preference. You might more prefer Saucony Pro 3. I think Adidas foam is more bouncy and definately firmer. The geometry is different. The drop is lower with Adidas and I feel Adidas has more foam in the forefoot. This is how I feel, but as said, it's very subjective issue. Generally I more prefer lower drop because I spent some time in Altra Escalante in the past (0 drop), maybe that's the reason.

@@markoljustina Not at all. I purchased a brand new pair of Vaporfly 2 some months back for $174 dollars because it was red. The same exact shoe next to it on the website was going for $275 because it was bright orange. People would actually pay more money for a different color, go figure. 🤷‍♂️

It's a great shoe, get v2 for better heel stability. I ran my 1st marathon in them after running a 10 miler and a half marathon with them. I just picked up my 2nd pair today as I have over 200 miles in my old pair (retired to long runs and short races) and I think that's about the life in the ZoomX.

They ARE better - I have had the V2 to compare. I got them too and this week I accompanied my fastest 1K, fastest 1 mile, fastest 5K, fastest 10K and fastest half-marathon. Not only that, today I also scored my highest VO2 Max on them.

Picked up 2 pairs of V2 in the pre Christmas Nike sale for £101 each so will stick with them for the fast stuff just now.. Adios Pro 3 or Endorphin Pro 3 over the marathon for me.... The Vaporfly would destroy me as I'd end up pushing too much and not pacing correctly.. Every time I'm in the Vaporfly they just egg me on.... There's more pace if you want it, just let us know if you want to go up a gear or 2 😂 haha...
