@@JermaineCurtis55 I think the information that is taught is the best there is, and reassures people that what they are seeing and learning is productive by using real-world examples and world class players. It's simple and easy to follow for both youth and adult players

Thanks coach. Causual viewer of your channel. I watched you play as a cardinal. Im coaching my 9 yr old and your vids help a lot. He is a big kid so I figure he is going to be expected to hit for power. So I am coaching him that way. He doesn't play travel ball or anything, but I got him in multiple sports. Im just trying to coach him to hit hard and throw hard... I figure that even if he doesnt pursue baseball that the power will atleast translate to other sports ... *but I was falling into the trap of "hit the ball the other way. Hit the ball the other way" ... I never realized these guys were hitting 75% to the pull side ... w my kid. Off soft toss. He will hit line drives up the middle the majority of the time. Hit hard but olyn go about 100 ft. But If he does get around on it and pull it. He can hit it to about 130 ft.

I think it's good to hit the ball the other way because you learn how to hit. If you're kid is big, than he can hit the other way and still drive the baseball. Stay up the middle for the most part. You get the best of both worlds.

Jose Ramirez hit 39 bombs this year with league average exit velo. 88% pull and center.

Exactly! He only hit the ball opposite field 11% of the time.

@@CG_0121 Yep. I wish I known this earlier in my career. I would have changed my hitting strategy. If you want to be more consistent, you want to go more opposite field.

@@JermaineCurtis55 i wish i would've known to lift the ball. I was taught line drive or ground ball.

Well...if you don't have super high exit velocity, its safer to aim low. Thats what I did. It works, and keeps you in the lineup. But if you want to be famous, you have to elevate the ball.

Quick question. Did you end up needing surgery for your blown hamstring or is that an injury you can recover from without surgery?
@JermaineCurtis55
@JermaineCurtis55 2 ай бұрын
You can recover without surgery depending on the grade of it. I had a grade 3 muscle tear. I started my recovery with several PRP injections because I thought it would heal fast. It didn't. Then I had to have surgery. After that, I wasn't the same mentally, and definitely physically.
