Love this guide! My main is a necro, and now that I'm trying to get all my alts looking nice I'm seeing how much harder it is on medium & heavy weight armors to break out of their "default" silhouettes so I especially like how you've highlighted a bunch of options which aren't trench coats. I would love a guide on which items show up with the feminine skin on female asura & charr characters (or ones where the "masculine" skin can more easily read as feminine), it's so hard to do a more cutesy or princess-y look on them without resorting to using outfits.

Very good advice! I bought GW1 just for the heritage armor, there are some guides around if people need help. It isn't too bad, just the very beginning of Nightfall into EOTN, and then ask very nicely for some players to give you miniatures to dedicate, which they have tons of. Now I have played through almost all through GW1 campaigns, so that was cool to connect with a game because it had great armor in GW2!

Awesome video, I knew most of them since I really like to customize my characters and have many of them. A tip is... check on the Wiki the code on each piece of gear, then copy and paste it ingame so you can right click -> preview it, and check how good/bad it will be on your character. BTW There are a lot more that can be get via achievement and you didn't mention and are really worth it, like Elegy armor set, incredibly good.

Looking forward to seeing the heavy armor sets. It's a bit hard to find light looking heavy armors in GW2. Not everyone wants the warrior/guardian/revenant to be big and bulky, sometimes we want to look breezy and comfy too :(

Just found you channel and instantly subscribing. I love the armor sets in guild wars 2, but it can be really hard to make good fashion when there are just so many sets out there. I've been playing since launch, but it's crazy how much I just don't have. Probably due to me mostly playing a mix of guardian and necro.

I imagine this is due to a lot of Gw2 players being old EverQuest players, where the term was used to describe our characters. The term then carried over into WoW and other MMOs

_Human male medium armor_ is the single worst category of all. My Thief ended up being my main and over the years I became so frustrated looking at my Wardrobe that as of recently I'm seriously considering switching the character to female. My human female Necromancer has tons of great looking skins ready to go, despite me never having focused on light armor in any way. Heavy armor is the easiest to make a character look cool imo. I refused to play heavy armor classes for years, but when I eventually created my Charr Guardian I immediately had a nice collection of skins ready to go which I had gathered pretty much automatically. Anyway, there are a lot of awesome looking sets I didn't know about, so maybe there's some hope for my Thief to keep his 🍆, lmao.

Its sad that there isnt the old gw1 elite armor in gw2. I think there is only one its the plate primeval armor and its only available at gem store like once in a year lol

Sadly I won't get the Heritage nor the Funerary set. I don't play GW1 and something put me off about the achievements for the Funerary set back then, and I never looked at it again.

Funerary isn't that hard tho, there are plenty of Achievements to get armor pieces of it, I just did one yesterday and took me literally 10 minutes. Once you unlock the skin you can apply it on other armor and done, no need to use the pre-stats on it.

I hate myself about GW1. I just got the core and its expansions on steam, but I use Windows 8 on my old PC that can't be upgraded. As of Jan 1 2024, Steam can't be launched anymore on Windows 8. My heritage armor ;_;

@@LarienBee sadly no. My old PC doesn't have the requirement to do that. As for now I'm waiting to get my laptop repaired. (My work PC got its fan busted so... once repaired I can work with contents as well as play GW1 on Steam.) But yeah... it sucks. I just need that light headpiece for my awakened female norn. Currently done 20/24 awakened look (one for each race, gender and armor class, with unique pieces from each other).

I bought outfit with gems,and set from shop looks 10 times better then any of these,but I understand point of farmed cosmetis, it's more fun when you achive something instead spending real money,but at the same time I spended gold for gems to get that thing outfit. So I don't know if that counts as a achievement?😂
