I'm doing something similar but my approach is a little simpler in that I'm only including the record ID in the URL (not email address and name). Fillout still automatically includes name, email, and any other values I have in Fillout and I don't have to worry if an email address changes and a user already has a URL. Also, I'm using MailerSend's Airtable extension to send beautiful template-based emails. MailerSend allows you to pull the values into their form templates too.. so we can accomplish the same thing.. e.g. having the user click a unique link for them. Thanks for your content! It's been really great as I've started using Airtable / Fillout.

I use the same simplified approach to update forms in FIllout. So long as the fields are properly mapped (as shown in the video), all you need is the Fillout update link with the Airtbable record ID. I don't understand the need for the extra steps and passing URL parameters. Hopefully, Gareth can respond and shed some light on why he chose the approach he described in the video.

Great tutorial as always, thank you Gareth and GAP team! This is a use case we see all the time with Fillout + Airtable. Takes a bit of setup but this video makes the process much simpler 🤝

hi i am using airtable, just want to send email every week to our customers about our product feature, fun facts, new & updates. find it quite limited inside the airtable automation email builder to build good looking email, any alternative email automation tools?

If you are sending a newsletter email, I'd suggest looking at a true ESP (Email Service Provider). Mailchimp, Constant Contact, ConvertKit, and many more offer this type of feature. Then, you can integrate this with your Airtable database!

@GarethPronovost for that integration, we require to use zapier / make right?

I use them both.

Could you please go further into more profound applications? For example… Custom Code or CSS/HTML on Fillout?
@fillout8 ай бұрын
Fillout supports custom code, HTML blocks and custom CSS in your forms! More details on each: www.fillout.com/help/html-css www.fillout.com/help/custom-css www.fillout.com/help/custom-code

Definitely check out Fillout's support articles. We focus on no-code so we don't typically drive into this on the channel. However, you can use free tools like SendGrid to craft an email and export HTML code. Then use this coffee in your automations, and voila!

@GarethPronovost great tutorial. Do you have content explaining how you implement these types of solutions to actual clients? I'm interested in this space as I think there's a lot of opportunity to work with small businesses and would appreciate your feedback.

Hi! I completely agree that there's a huge need for SMBs here, as well as larger companies. We started a separate channel with content for consultants, but the demand was low, so we canned the project. Now we just focus on no-code education. Sorry!
